If I'm a Clemson Player, I know Bama's the most physical test and I'm lifting 2X per day

Jan 1, 2016, 1:35 PM

For 10 days, starting now.

Physical strength would not be allowed as a reason fall just short of WINNING IT ALL.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

You really don't have a clue about strength training...

Jan 1, 2016, 1:43 PM

It's too late to build strength now... maintenance is the only option 11 days out.

I'm good enough, I'm smart enough, and doggone it, people like me.

She doesn't have a clue about most things

Apparently you don't know your v@g. By the end of the season, muscle is lost from summer

I'd injest about 400 mgs of protein per day (supposed to intake as many mgs as your goal weight per day - the extra would be to help the torn muscles to recover by the next day) andd work out like a mad man AT LEAST for the next 7 days.

Yeah, collegiate athlete here sending my experiences to the team, and unfortunately, the keyboard kings who clearly never made it further than 2nd team in HS football.

I think you meant grams....not milligrams....theres probably

400 milligrams of protein in a baby snickers bar. And yeah.....It's to late to worry about adding strength at this point. Maintenance really is the key. With a month....you could gain a little strength back....with 11 days....not so much.

Apparently you can't make up you mind on the training regimen.

Muscles don't recover in 24 hours. You really don't have a clue. You could work different muscle groups the next day.

The players continue to lift throughout the season. You are not going to gain strength in the next 11 days. Maintenance and RECOVERY are the only plan for the next 11 days.

How is Bama our most physical test? Based on what?

Jan 1, 2016, 1:56 PM

They beat an average MSU team who probably shouldn't have been in the final 4. They beat up on some over rated SEC teams.

How can anybody watch the bama game last night and still doubt them? They are by far, without a doubt the second best team in the country. It's not even close. Their defense is the real deal. They were shutting down MSUs run game with just their front 4 lineman. No lb's, no blitzing. I know everyone wants to discredit them because they want to prove ESPN wrong, but the reason ESPN constantly talks about them is because they are dang good. And now I'm hearing MSU didn't belong in the playoffs? That's ridiculous. That sounds just like the coots saying Oklahoma didn't belong, which is also ridiculous.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

ummmm, no...

Jan 1, 2016, 2:44 PM

Overtraining the muscles by doing things the body is not used to doing can do more harm than good. It can affect the central nervous system just as much as the body. It all leads to fatigue. It doesn't just impact the quads, chest, or back, but rather the entire body. Your CNS is responsible for generating muscular contractions in all types of training, so when you stack workout upon workout, eventually it can tire out.

As a result of this general fatigue, you will be weaker and slower in all of your movements. You may find you don't have the force generation capacity that you normally do, or that you are unexpectedly uncoordinated at times.

Just who's to say Clemson isn't going to be Bama's most physical test to date? Quit worrying about whether the neighbor's grass is greener and tend to your own. Each and every person who says Clemson should 'do this'...'do that'...isn't a Clemson fan. Clemson is the standard, ######...get that through your heads! Go Tigers!

It's the exact opposite of that. REST is the key. A healthy Clemson D can stop anyone in the country.
