But the point is he would be considered but not offered.

I hope they post a link the TO talking to Qualk on the radio today.

TO was just stating that Coach Brownell's performance and Indiana roots would indicate he would at least get a look see. Indiana's top candidates are going to be Bruce Pearl, Chris Beard and Scott Drew, etc. He is going to be like lower than 5th on the list to get the chance to say are you interested. Don't think it's even going to come to that.

It would be interesting if that ever materialized.

I would lose a lot of respect for him if he jumped ship now. CU stuck by him when most schools would have fired him.

It would be a slap on the face if he bolted now. Having said that, I’m not sure he’d make that move at this stage of his career.

I really don't think Coach wants to be put under a microscope on everything he does. He likes the low profile at Clemson. I agree with you...

We are also recruiting the high school ranks better.

This is due to the administration funding the program better in terms of more money for assistant coaches, support staff, and upgraded facilities.

I could see him leaving because he will have a major rebuild after this season. Scheiff's dont grow on trees, 6th yr Chase's are not easy to find and bigs like Lakhim with his passion would be extremely hard to find. CBB would have his best window to leave if he has any desires. Next season would be a miracle to make the NCAA if he stays but I would love to see if he could manage that miracle. I would finally be a true believer that the Portal and NIL is all he needed to be more successful.

We will have one of the best backcourts in the game if Zackery gets a JUCO year back, with Dillon and Del Jones still around. That's a pretty solid starting point.

If Brad can get the lights turned on for Wiggins and Reeves, development with our last two classes plus this crop of freshmen, and a couple of veteran transfers added to the mix, we should be pretty competitive.

CBB will have to hit the portal hard to replace those guys plus I think JZ is done too. Dillon and Del will need to improve shooting to insure the guard positions remain effective. Dillon .427 FG, .328 3pt, .586 FTs. Del .422, .342, .392 to date.

The rumors are Jayden wants to come back if can do so. Loves it at Clemson.

Remember Clemson has two highly 4 star recruits being redshirted this year in Dallas Thomas and Ace Buckner.

Also two of the recruits are 4 star recruits coming in next year. They are already ACC basketball ready to contribute in 6-3 Zac Foster who is top 65 recruit one of the higher rated prospects in Clemson Basketball history, and a similar skill set forward to Shieff in 6-8 Chase Thompson from MN who was a top QB prospect in that state. Bring a couple frontcourt players in the portal and should not drop off much.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

A lot of people here feared such a drop off this year after losing PJ.

Losing Schieff and Ian will be big, but we can still be really good next year by continuing to develop our current players and using the portal to address needs.

where coaches are set up to win. They've had "big names" since Bob Knight, but since he left after 1999-2000 season, they've only had five top-25 finishes in the AP Poll.

They've made the NCAA Tournament in 12 of 24 seasons but just 2 of the last 8.

I get Brownell has ties to the state from his college career, but as far as recruiting, he's spent the last 15 years here at Clemson in the Southeast. He gets a few kids from the Midwest, but the Atlanta area (along with FL, SC, NC, AL, AR) is where we seem to get a most of our top HS recruits.

One cannot apply their values to a situation then say with any confidence the other person would make the same choice. CBB has poured himself into building the Clemson program and both daughters are Clemson grads. He has endured the lean years when the AD treated the program as an after thought and with the LF throwing delusional crap at him on a daily basis. Yet with all of this he has never wavered.

Brad crawled to freedom through five hundred yards of *poop* smelling foulness I can't even imagine, or maybe I just don't want to. Five hundred yards... that's the length of five football fields, just shy of half a mile . . . and came out clean on the other side. Why would he leave

Not that I expect to compete with Kansas or Duke for 5 Star players any time soon, but Clemson is in a much better place now than it has been maybe ever.
Like him or not, Brad Brownell is Clemson basketball. And right now that is not a bad thing.
