Bored/Board question

Worst time of year waiting around for Clemson sports to come back around.
But meanwhile, does anyone miss Clemson football before the success? Like the 2000s and such. It wasn’t as a successful period, but when we became elite there was so much anxiety to win every game. And even though we have, I kind of miss just appreciating wins like 2003 FSU at home.

Who misses no ACC championships, losing games we are supposed to win and getting phrased as "##########"? I sure as heck dont. At least they didnt make terms for team that lost often, or played hard in games that mattered.

2003 FSU at home was one of my favorite memories at Clemson. From the tailgate to the outcome couldn’t ask for a better day.

No. I hated losing to Maryland, wake, and constantly getting beat by GT. In what world would I miss that? I still have anxiety every game but I don't miss the dreadful feeling of lingering on a loss all weekend. I like how the anxiety turns to joy more often than not. That's like asking Bama fans if they miss the times before Saban.

There should be some type special award/reward for those of us who were Loyal Clemson Fans and followers back in the days of mediocrity prior to Danny Ford, and immediately after. Those days of Hootie Ingram, Red Parker, Charlie Pell, ‘clueless’ Kenny Hatfield and Tommy West. Also, enduring those excuses offered up after each loss by Tommy Bowden, blaming ‘the Seniors’ for not motivating the team. It’s easy to be a Clemson Tiger fan now that we win big games and big prizes, but the real fans donated in the bad times, as well. Instead, it now seems to be too much about ‘The Benjamin’s’, and to blazes with the loyal fans. Thankfully, we are going to continue the success, and I still give nicely to IPTAY, but loyalty hasn’t the same value it once had.

There has never been a time where I didn't enjoy being a tiger. But missing the Bowden and previous eras seems a little weird. I get the concept, winning a big game as an underdog was a great thing. But please, never take me back to wondering if we would choke against Duke.

I can appreciate the question about anxiety. Nothing seemed certain in the pre-Dabo days. But in truth, everything about Clemson has changed since we got our head coach. Instead of underperforming, the players are working hard right now to be ready when fall camp begins. We may still lose games that we should win, like ND and the 'Cookies last year, but it is not a question of commitment or effort. Yes, I will be anxious about every game this year because I think we get back into the winner's circle, and that will require some great games.

the fact I have a phobia of belonging to anything.
But I joined free TNET in 2012 based on what I was excited to see a much improved Tigers football team. Difficult time coming off that horrendous loss in Orange Bowl, we shall speak no more of it. We had a really good group of young players, still cannot believe Tajh Boyd never even played a down for an NFL team with all his numbers!! I guess anybody can look good throwing to Sammy/Nuk/Martavis/Adam at that time but I truly thought he was a great QB.
Mid summer, right about now actually, enjoyed reading other post from posters and decided to give it a try. It has been lots of fun most of the time, but I have to completely agree that the success has changed how I look at each season now. Sometimes I allow myself to go off the rails expecting every single down, every single player, to perform perfectly like a machine...which is ludicrous and unfair.
One of my continual goals over the last several years is to not post in the moment. Process the info, allow it to sink in, then make a better decision and how/what to post. There are many here who are awesome and fun, which means there is no technical down time and we can always enjoy the site!!
