Coach Leggett

As a person and representative for our university and running a clean program, he has done a terrific job. And he has been a good baseball coach, not great, but good. He has won a ton of games but lost in some big spots. I believe the program has reached a plateau with him running the ship and is starting back down the hill. And I think it's time for a change. I believe Jack shouldn't be fired, but it's time for him to step away gracefully like Coach Wilhelm did and let him pick his successor (I'd love to see Tim Corbin come back and let's get some major league talent in here). It's frustrating to watch this program flounder but others don't seem to agree. They're fine with the status of the program, and that's their right to have that opinion.

Who cares. Was called a Coot yesterday. Those people who do that are trying to hide from the real problem because they know we're right.

Both Leggett & Swinney have now lost to South Carolina in the last 3 years. (multiple games) Having said that, Leggett has lost in the regional final and once in the national championship. (if I'm not mistaken)
Swinney has lost with more talented teams, (one year at least IMO) but is a just a 3rd year head coach and has played in the ACC championship game 2 out of 3 years. (I'll take that any day) He also won the elusive ACC championship last year, (with a very young team) and I think he deserves time to find the right coaching staff. (which hopefully he has done)
Although I would like to see us not lose to South Carolina, (espceially so much) Clemson is still way ahead in the overall rivalry between the 2 schools. I think the improved perception of the SEC (athletically) has helped South Carolina and has made the difference in recruiting. (in recent years)
I don't think firing Leggett is the answer, but I do think affiliation with the conference that gives Clemson the best chance for success might improve recruiting. I think the ACC could be Clemson's best option, (at the end of the day) but at the moment there appears to be a lack of leadership IMO that is allowing the SEC to pass the ACC in most (if not all) of the major collegiate sports.
I see South Carolina's recent success, more of a result of conference affiliation (and lack of institutional control) than anything else.
