Should Clemson take two of its home games each year and play
Feb 6, 2015, 10:08 AM
|
|
one in Charleston and one in Columbia (only years we don't play at UCS)? We could play at one of the larger High Schools in Charleston, or at somewhere like Charleston Southern. We could play in Willy B on a weekend when UCS is away.
it would be a good gesture towards our alumni base and would go a long way in extending our brand. We would still have 4-5 home games in Clemson.
I think the admin. should look into this
thoughts?

On the weekend we play in the cockroach, will they hang a huge banner of Dabo's achievements the night before?

Are you really suggesting Clemson exchange an 80,000 attendance game in DV for a 6-10,00 game in Charleston? What about the Clemson students? How would you replace the millions of dollars that would be lost on a Low Country game? Sounds like a very bad idea to me.

they could just do a bunch of busts at the apartment complexes in consecutive days or weeks & put that immediate cash flow into building a stadium in Charleston.
Why isn't there a Charleston Stadium Building Committee list being publicized yet??

Clemson Football, the program that "shakes the southland"??
Clemson Football Men's Varsity Football would submerge Charleston into a historic landmark resembling a bay or gulf area, with nothing left but a few church steeples peeping out of the water.
I seriously doubt the Civil War buffs will entertain your plan.

stadium downtown to host something like the Florida-Georgia game in Jacksonville against a competitive team besides USuC. Bringing Florida up to play in the Holy City would be kinda fun.

I would love a large stadium in Charleston.
For years I've wanted the Army/Navy game to move (permanently) to Charleston.
An annual Clemson game there would be welcomed also.

But leave the regular season games in Death Valley. Clemson's merchants have their best sales on game day Saturdays and it wouldn't be fair.
Basketball I think could and should have one game a year rotated between in Greenville, Charleston, Myrtle Beach, Rock Hill, and... yes... Columbia.

It's weird to think about it for my generation but it's cool the Alabama and Mississippi schools used to do something similar.
Arkansas still does but even they have cut back on the little rock games. It seemed like we always played them in little rock.

ex if we played WFU on the road this year, they could host the game at Roswell High School. WFU would still see a bigger attendance than their home game and we would be able to play in front of Tre Lamar.
