Story Time! - MIL Edition

Set up:
So my MIL can be a bit much. Constantly being over the top as it regards my FIL and constantly on him about stupid #### and she also has some kind of complex in which she is FAR better than anyone in the room. Thank the Lord my wife is nothing like her.

Situation:
Very nice Italian place for my wife’s birthday.
My wife and I used to live right beside this place. Like 50 yards away. We would walk there all the time. So we know all the bartenders and waiters/waitresses.

Problem:
Our waiter happens to be a new young guy. Very good at his job. There is another waiter tho who is Super Italian. Greasy hair, rings, necklaces, shirt open up top….you know the guy. Well, we know him and he is the absolute nicest guy in the whole world.

I say hello to him and he gives me a hug and then my wife and I explain to my MIL how we know him as she is of course asking. Then she says, “well he looks like he sleeps here too”.

I lose my ####.

I then decide to tell my mother in law that if she really thinks that then she should tip him $200 and ask if he needs help. If not and that is just conjecture on her part to “not share your thoughts about him”.

Wife wasn’t mad at all. A bit awkward for a moment but overall everyone was happy I said it to her.

Liquid courage was there to help as well.
