So if the top 10% owns 76% of the wealth. Most everyone is pretty poor in this country. The bottom 50% owns 1% of the wealth. A lot of suffering people in this country.

True, but there are some very poor people either way. The median income in the US is 70k. 90% of America doesn't make close to that. People are broke in this country. Poverty rates are going through the roof. Something like 14% of children live in poverty now. At the 50% just to squeeze into the top 50%, they make 39k. That's a parrial reason th Dems hang on. The country is so broke. Just watching some Fox Business and the breakdowns are uglt.

what median means. On the low end you have people that are retired and others that are young. On the high end you have sports, hollywood, high end tiktokers and people born rich.
I could easily live comfortably off of 75k.

Not in major cities I would bet you couldnt. Not pleasantly at least. Still the people at the 50% mark doesn't make that. They say those who are just on the 50% mark are making something like 39k. Like you said it is the median though. Still awful.

I heard that $75K figure quoted in the news today, and it's worthing noting that that is 'household income', not 'individual income'. Plenty of married couples out there making 40K each doing just fine.

It's used to seem for me as well, but with high inflation, education costs, daycare, gas, trips to the strip club, etc etc. I don't see how some people pull it. This country is going to be awful for that lower 50% or even those 75%. My buddy pays 1k per month day care, which I hear isnt bad, and 1900 for his family of 3's insurance. That's crazy. I pay 800 for my health insurance. Costs are outrageous.
