That totally doesn't get the whole "banana baseball game" played in Death Valley?
I wasn't able to watch, didn't make it a point. I gather it was basically a Harlem GlobeTrotting baseball game? 81k people though?
Says alot about society

I didn’t get it either until I just watched the 60 minutes clip on them. They are big and getting bigger. They sell out NFL stadiums!

Imagine if the guy who founded Banana Ball came to you and talked your ear off over a few beers about his Banana Ball concept and how it would be great etc etc.. You would think he was nuts and that it would never be huge. Pretty impressive what he pulled off.

It says people want to get away and have fun and to not be serious. For me the game of fake baseball and the crowd would suck, but for many it's a carefree way to pass the day away and to live a little. Good for them. To each his/her own.

I read that ticket cost is $74.00 per person but if that is true then 81,000 people at $74.00 a head is a lot of money.

It depended on where you sat, I think the three ticket prices were $40, $60, or $120. I bought my tickets for $40 each

So the Banana Ball people grossed well over 3 million on ticket sales alone. Wild.

They do a lot for charity and their highest ticket price is $60. It was a great advertisement for Clemson. Did a tremendous amount of good for the businesses in and around Clemson. I see nothing but positives.

If we would have known we're going to make 250k by filling the stadium that way, we could have spent in to bring Chancy Wiggins back for another season with that windfall.

It just shows that in this time of nonsense in our nation that 81,000 wanted to spend a day and night of good old fashioned fun with family. I have no doubt that thousands more tickets would have been sold if there was room.

2. Kinda sorta Harlem Globetrotters, but there's an actual winner between the 2 teams that cares on whether they win or not.
3. 81k PLUS enjoyed it (it was televised).
