I wonder what the ACC budget is for litigation expenses?

The ACC was the last P5 conference to hire in-house counsel (color me shocked). They’ll have to ramp up outside counsel to manage litigation at some point which costs money. Just spit ballin.

I fully expect the ACC to take legal fees out of the Clemson and FSU distributions.

They can only do that if they win.

They can't lose and then take the money from Clemson.

We are th3 ACC so in fact we are in litigation with ourselves over things that we were perfectly happy with 5 years ago...sounds like someone did not do their due diligence when they signed this...when FSWTC could not get 30k fans in the stadium they were happy as claims to have their game shown on any TV set! When your wife sues you for divorce over you wanting to boink someone else guess who pays the lawyer in the end? Ignorance has company!

No one knows what is in the ACC ESPN agreement, and only Clemson knows what they were told. Do you have information about this that no one else knows about?

He's a paid shill hired by the ACC to come here and spread it to the s hit. He has nothing to add to refute anything.

Wrong, since then the ACC has accepted 2nd Class citizenship, in defering to the SEC and the Big, and allowing more of a share of the new football revenue to go to them.. And,if indeed, there were mis-stastements by the ACC, then even more reason for a suit.

I suspect it's less than the State of Florida's.

It doesn't matter. In the end it comes from the membership in one way or another, either directly or by less distribution. We are paying for at least a portion of the expense of the defense of our own lawsuit.
It's like asking where the federal government gets the money for the DOJ to bring or defend lawsuits. It all comes from the only source of revenue...us.

Probably a lot. And that would not be unusual.

I’ve been to a presentation by the NCAA where they showed all the financials.
95% of their annual revenue comes from the men’s basketball tournament.
70% of their expenses are legal expenses. “We get sued all the time” I believe was the exact quote.
(not the exact numbers there…but pretty darn close)

Well if we win, the ACC will have to pay us for our legal costs now

That is essentially what the amended lawsuit is asserting. The ACC has harmed Clemson by lying about the scope of the GOR and thus required this lawsuit. We need damages awarded back to Clemson to remedy the damage done to our ability to negotiate a new media agreement and to our overall reputation as a result. The ACC’s overstating of the scope of gore was negligence.

How can you lie about the scope of the GOR...do you think we signed anything without university lawyers looking it over top to bottom...if we did we are dummer than I thought and right now that is bad...ACC is still a power 5...place at dance on the books...nothing like that at SEC or BIG...next when are 2nd class citizens in another conference you'll be itching about that...SEC needs more Vandys and UofSCs...I don't want Clemson to be one of those (money does not matter then) chickens will be nuggets!

The "magnificent seven" seems to be the magnificent two when it's time to sue.
