of wins against teams that FINISH in the top 10. Who the h3ll cares if a team ranked #9 at the time starts a five game losing streak against you? That shouldn't count lol.
The reverse should also be true: if you beat an unranked team that finished the year ranked, that should count, even if it didn't at game time.

I get that overall point of your statement but I don't 100% agree with it. Let's take for example the Clemson win over Georgia in 2013. Georgia was ranked #5 going into that game and ended up finishing the year unranked after suffering a ton of injuries on their team. The Georgia team from the 2nd half of that season with all the missing players wasn't even remotely the same team Clemson played early in the year against a healthy team. I don't think it'd be fair to go back and say the team Clemson beat wasn't good.
Also a team is almost always going to fall in rankings after a loss. So say you beat the #10 team in a bowl game and that team ends up finishing the year at 14th or something. I'm not sure it would be fair to say that team didn't beat a top 10 team since the team they beat didn't finish there.

Funny fact:
In 2020, NONE of Jawja's regular season top 10 wins game against teams that finished RANKED in the top 25
In the last Kirby-ish seasons, only Florida and that one Auburn they split 1-1 with team was a top 10 by the end of the season. They have split the last six games with Florida... and that includes McEwwwwwlain's Florida
Georgia plays a lot of inflated "top" opponents that later a struggle to remain ranked, let alone finish in the top 10.
Against other top opponents, say like Alabama, they are 0-6 in their last six matchups with five of those being played in their home state or athens.

BTW, my numbers reflect where the teams stood when Georgia played them, not final rankings. Guess Packer is talking about end of season rankings.
