The 12 team CFP format was designed to give the SEC/B10 a competitive advantage. As usual, SEC/B10 teams will get the "benefit of the doubt" and receive higher rankings based on their conference affiliation. This will assure that a majority of 1st round games will be in SEC/B10 stadiums.

Let's look at the 12 team scenario as it stands right now.

1. UGA - Bye
2. MICH - Bye
3. TCU - Bye
4. USC - Bye

5. OHIO ST hosts 12. TULANE
6. BAMA hosts 11. UTAH
7. TENN hosts 10. KAN STATE
8. PENN ST hosts 9. CLEM

By my count:
SEC - 1 bye / 2 home games
B10 - 1 bye / 2 home games
B12 - 1 bye / 1 away game
PAC - 1 bye / 1 away game
ACC - 1 away game
GROUP - 1 away game

That 8 vs. 9 ranking spot in the final ranking will always benefit SEC/B10

It's designed to get the entire nation involved to have better TV ratings and to make more money. That's all. It's a business.

Clemson fans are pulling for - at least in my house it will be nobody. We might casually have it on, but without Clemson involved, CFP is just like the 30 other bowls. We'll watch the Clemson game, but after that I doubt we'll watch very much.

Unfortunately I don't really see much to argue about with the rankings this year. The second loss for Clemson ruled them out of being in the top 8 for sure. Maybe FSU could have slipped into the top 12, but I believe LSU is the only team they beat that is currently ranked. The ACC simply was not good enough this year, maybe that is changing though.

The best teams make the Playoffs so if there are several SEC and or Big10 teams in, they deserve it. The only way to change the scenario is to get better. Life rewards results.
