I went to the 1st prowl and growl

of the year last night in Rock Hill. The Rock
Hill sports center is really impressive. I’ve seen lots of families going in and out of there on the weekends. My favorite place to have it around here is at the baseball stadium in Charlotte.
Brad Brownell was MIA last night and they never said anything about him or why he wasn’t there. I’ve been to many of these in the past and he is always there. It was definitely suspicious. Dabo and Noonan were there and also Graham Neff. They did say that Clemson is the only school with 3 National Championships in both football and mens soccer and they played that up with banter between the 2 coaches about who will get the next one. Noonan seems like a really great guy.
Dabo preached about how hard it is to win the big games and promised we will have more national championships while he is the coach at Clemson. He was adamant about that and said the team this year may have the most depth of any team he has had here barring injuries. He
Also said that we need to show grace (can’t remember the exact words he used) to our athletes. He may have been reading tigernet last season?? He said the coaches last season had to be very creative due to the ridiculous amount of injuries.

Neff was very impressive. He said he doesn’t want to change the things that made Clemson who we are but we have to adapt to all the changes that are coming with sports these days. The good thing about him is he’s been at Clemson for awhile. The familiarity is helpful.

These people will criticize Brad regardless.
He isn’t there and they portray him as aloof and disinterested, not wanting to interact with fans. Or they assume that it means that he’s about to be fired.
If he had been there, he would have been blasted for not recruiting and hiring coaches as you said.

Prowl and Growl has always been with the football and basketball coaches since they started these years ago.

I had the pleasure last night of sitting at the table between Dabo and coach Noonan and I asked Coach S if coach Brownell was going to attend this meeting and he told me that Brad was preparing to leave for the meeting and received notice that a very important recruit was on his way to Clemson and Brownell was going to stay and meet with this young man and his family. So for those of you Brownell haters you will be disappointed that he was taking care of business. But please continue with your constant hatred , AND Go Tigers

not true, nc. the iptay meetings (they've haven't been prowl and growl long) did start with both HCs. the demand on the coaches' time became too much and the # of meeting were decreased and a rotation system set up where a site got the football HC and a basketball asst this year, the basketball HC and a football asst the next year, and both HCs the 3rd year.
due to a lot of factors , (the internet, zoom meetings, etc) these meetings are , IMO, dying a slow death.
I was there last night. Anyone who loosely follows clemson should have known Brad wouldn't be there. In fact the advance info on the meeting said "subject to coaches' availability". when the official visit was scheduled, it was obvious brad had a conflict. Do agree it should have been explained.. "brad has a recruit on campus and sends his best" type thing.
Have you ever been to one of these type meetings?

Brad is also trying to hire two new assistant coaches.
These things had to take priority over being at the Prowl and Growl, even though he enjoys doing those events (and as you said, never misses those).

yeah good point. forgot. Also think Dennis's visit is longer than just yesterday.
Judge, any idea if the new assistants will be named soon? by next week? Need to try to get JL back before he makes too many new visits?

Yeah I agree with that. The odd thing to me is no one said a word about him. It was odd. If that’s what he’s doing then why not say he had an important recruit on campus yesterday? I’ve never been to one of these when he wasn’t there. I have enjoyed his comments and he appears to have a good relationship with Dabo.

I have met him a handful of times at team reunions, alumni events, etc. (although I doubt he would remember), and he is a genuinely nice guy.
