Why do people say our offense is archaic? Watching games around the country it Looks like we have the same formations and plays as everybody else.

The dialogue here is mostly immature, which was fine when I was equally immature and without a job.
I pay membership to another site which seems to have a much higher football IQ than this one. This one is full of frat boys that never grew up.

Was listening to the cover 3 podcast and they were talking about how outdated our offensive system is. I just don't see it to me it looks like a lot of offenses around the country. maybe I'm wrong idk

Sports pundits are going to sports pundit. Is Clemsons offense archaic? No. Is the current scheme revolutionary? No. It’s a spread zone read which is similar to what the majority of college football uses right now. It’s a typical sports media over simplification.

DJU required a very vanilla offense which seemed to step up when Cade came in for the ACCCG. If we see the same plays with Cade that we saw all year with DJU, then that's on Streeter.

Dabo cut the tomfoolery out of it when Tony and Jeff took the helm. Our offense will be radically different than we've seen in the last two years.
UT should be studying TL games rather than what little Cade was allowed to do. Imo, after running the ball a couple times Cade is going to shock the world.

To answer your question. Is the offensive scheme archaic? No. Was how it was ran archaic? Yes. We over simplified our offense a lot of times for various reasons.

a team with top 10 talent and a coaching staff paid among the highest in college football has an offense that ranks 53rd in total offense.
It seems to be the system or player development, or a combination of both, which is at fault.

It's because Robert Griffin III said that during one of the games last year, and thus it became a talking point for second rate analysts.
However, there is more to the story. The game last year was during the middle of the season when there were a ton of injuries: one of the Swinney boys was starting at wide receiver, several lineman were injured, and Uiagalelei was playing awful.
In other words, the offense wasn't archaic by design. It was out of necessity due to the situation, because that's all the players available at the time could execute.

Folks want more pre-snap motion. Morris had five plays but 12 different formations.

Actually, I do find it a little puzzling we do so little ore snap. That’s the only real thing I miss from Chad’s days.

The biggest reason is for 2 years they were handicapped by the confidence and accuracy of their QB and the playbook steadily shrank, but in fairness Trevor was so good they hardly ever had to get creative and the shrinking playbook began his sophomore year.
