Leo still won't win

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

you don't think so?***

The bear probably will.

Or BB-8.

If Leo is in it, I won't watch it! Same with Matt Damon, Bradley Cooper, and quite a few more liberal nut jobs!

Lol cause that matters so much when watching a movie.

Next time think before you post. The point is why would you put money in the pockets of liberal ######? Get a clue.

Jan 21, 2016, 8:42 AM [ in reply to Re: If you haven't seen The Revenant ]

It matters who my money goes to. don't want a dime to go to South Carolina univ. or some left wing nut job who spews stupid crap and we are the ones who give them the platform to do it. One of the benefits of having a few of our rights left intact, I get to choose where my money goes and at least for now my own opinion. But you also have the right to do as you please also.

Re: If you haven't seen The Revenant

I understand the principle to a certain extent. You've probably missed some really great movies if you haven't seen any movies with the actors you mentioned. Lighten up, bud.

Re: If you haven't seen The Revenant

Jan 21, 2016, 12:30 AM [ in reply to Re: If you haven't seen The Revenant ]

Hey slick, I'm not a liberal either, nor a conservative, but if you don't want to see libs in your movies you may want to just skip the whole movie watching experiment because 99% of them are liberals.

You sound very short sighted, as I can enjoy good acting (notice the word acting) regardless of the persons background.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

For relaxing times, make it Suntory time

Re: If you haven't seen The Revenant

Jan 21, 2016, 7:37 AM

Neither a liberal nor conservative. This is quite a feat in a nation long dominated by a two party system. So, you have no opinion about entertainers espousing their opinion, but you do have an opinion when a citizen votes with his pocketbook in an effort to promote their view of the world.

How do these things find consistency?

Re: If you haven't seen The Revenant

Jan 21, 2016, 8:54 AM [ in reply to Re: If you haven't seen The Revenant ]

I agree . If you want to tag someone as being some sort of political this or that , why waste your money on giving in to the entertainment industry ? There are multitudinous ways to give that money away . There are gun shows , LGBT fund raisers , boating excursions , gifts for grandchildren , Girl Scout cookies , the Sierra Club ...I mean the list is truly infinite .
You may never have to worry about seeing another movie before you check out ...as long as you steer it into the tide and focus on your distance from the hazards .

Question..

Jan 21, 2016, 8:51 AM [ in reply to Re: If you haven't seen The Revenant ]

Are there any good movies that don't have some extreme liberals in them? I am not knocking you at all by the way. It's just a question.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I'm sure he would be devasted

Jan 21, 2016, 9:18 AM [ in reply to Re: If you haven't seen The Revenant ]

without your $30 how will he ever make it. All movies have liberals in them, except maybe Eastwood movies.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

So if you don't watch movies with "liberal nut jobs"

Jan 21, 2016, 11:40 AM [ in reply to Re: If you haven't seen The Revenant ]

I guess you don't watch movies.

I saw it yesterday

Jan 20, 2016, 9:01 PM

and while it was nice visually i did not find it very compelling. The story was extremely straightforward which can be food at times but in this case it just made it very simple. The characters were not well fleshed out and I think the survival aspects really went over the top

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: I saw it yesterday

Jan 20, 2016, 10:38 PM

Simple and redundant ...the story could have been told in an hour

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I didn't like it. Very strange and surreal.

Visually interesting but very dissapointing.

I loved it . Cinematic effects were superb , acting was not forced and was intentionally understated and the story was based on a factual event ....which makes for the story's interest to the viewer .
I hope Leo wins best actor and the film gets best movie .

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Good movie. 2.75/4.

Jan 20, 2016, 10:50 PM

It wasn't continuously exciting but it was anything but boring. It had some really good parts and some great parts. Seemed as if the writers and directors had no limits.

I saw the movie. MEH to me. They had to really work hard to make that movie even work. Glad you liked it though. I've spoken to others that liked it a lot too, so I guess it's all in the eye of the beholder.

I can see where it got away from some people. Just fascinating to me!

never seen The Edge

Could be though! Has the bear in it ;)

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Very good movie, that was based on a true story.

Jan 21, 2016, 7:43 AM

I encourage folks to take time and read up on Hugh Glass, if you haven't already. His story really made me appreciate the film.

I would say the movie included MAYBE 10% factual

content. The mauling was ridiculously overdone. And the fact that the real Hugh Glass forgave the men who left him really takes the "true story" aspect out of it.

powerful lure!.....lol......as far as "The Revenant" goes, I'd always been fascinated by the characters and stories from the era of the Mountain Men who explored the Rockies beginning just after Lewis and Clark's exploits became public knowledge---especially this particular incident---and there've been other cinematic re-tellings of the tale, this one's been the best so far

Jan 21, 2016, 9:03 AM

I enjoyed it. It's not completely realistic, but it is very good.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I thought it was too long and a little boring

Jan 21, 2016, 10:34 AM

And I usually like slow paced movies. Granted, I had just seen The Hateful Eight the night before- another movie that takes place in the 18th century, in the snowy west, and which is 3 hours long.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

That said, it's definitely not "horrible" like some of these people are saying

Jan 21, 2016, 10:36 AM

I bet they'd rather watch something like Transformers 2.
