Exactly! I try to make every home game from 5 hours away. A Thursday night game means 2 days off work. Not to mention the disruption of classes for the University. Fridays are for High Schools, period!

Friday night games are for Northern schools

as they play most high school games on Saturday afternoons.
You won't ever see southern teams play home games on Friday night, other than some random offbrand school that needs the airtime pub. High school is too important in these states.
Clemson is good for a Thursday night home game every 10 years or so, It disrupts classes (and the whole town) so badly that we have good grounds to NOT have them.

I was more annoyed that we always seemed to get destroyed on national tv than by disruptions to class. This was, however:
At the advent of the Thursday night games,
When good teams were still excited about being chosen for the honor,
Coming from someone who always lived on campus,
In the era when our offense consisted of "up the middle, around the end, up the middle (to 'surprise' the opposing defense on third and long), punt,
Long enough ago that I guess I'm now dating myself,
The Good Old Days.
