I've been posting about it just about every week. This is old news now.

No worries. I actually stopped posting. Somebody would keep commenting "but it's only week #X" on my posts. Well, it's week #9 now and we're still top 4 in the country and Huegel is booting the pigskin out of the end zone more often than not.

First Hugel worked on strength in off season and now more consistently kicks it deep enough that we get way more touch backs.
Second, it looks like kicks are purposely angled to the left side of the end zone, which limits returns to the left side of the field making them easier to defend because defenders have to cover less real estate. If you watch Alabama kickoff, they appear to take the exact same approach. I think our coaches studied a lot of film in the off season and 'borrowed' some good ideas.

Let's see.... I'm not a coach, nor do I attend all the practices, but I will 'offer you':
Lewisville ran one back on us last year. They didn't this year. NC State ran one back on us last year. This year, they didn't. Alabama ran one back on us last year, this year... oh, better wait before I count that one, eh?
Of the 50+ KOs, more than half are touchbacks. Too lazy to look up last year's numbers, but bet they were worse. Also, I don't know the return ave last year vs this year, but thinking I haven't seen as much 'drama' as last year personally.
So, if all the experts. hand wringers and bedwetters were BLAMING the coaches (and players) for last year's dismal efforts, then it stands to reason they should get credit for this year's efforts, or would you disagree?
In that case, explain to me what HASN'T CHANGED from last year, and we can debate that?
I'll hang up and take your answer off line mikey....
