My thoughts on the spring game.

1. Lots of guys got meaningful scrimmage experience. 2. It was two hours that Clemson fans weren’t whining about Brownell and basketball.
I’ll take it!
P.S. I don’t think we look like a national championship team this year, or even a contender. Thankfully, the season is still a long way away and we have time to improve. Go Tigers!

instead of four hours, because the ACC Network in their infinitesimal wisdom only showed the first half.

My thoughts and prediction

After hiding in the shadows from embarrassment, then proclaiming you’ll likely not post much going forward, you’ll find new life and zeal as the troll you are, never missing an opportunity to take shots at the most successful Clemson sports program, renewing your perverse, passive aggressive attacks against what is good as retribution for legitimate criticism of marginal mediocrity.

What do I say here?

I like you both and respect the different opinions. Nobody would even post if there weren’t, at least, differing opinions on something. There would be no fun…
That said, I’ll say that what I want and what I saw today differed, but I saw a lot of positives. DJ def looks more mobile. His touch has improved and had some catches gone his way, would have been a better reflection on his performance. I’m still concerned, absolutely no question. I’m hoping this summer is filled with significant recoveries for guys that are still ailing. I’m hopeful DJ gets some counseling for his confidence and makes a breakthrough with his decision making. I hope that the O’line, as a unit, makes us regret questioning them going into this season to the degree many of us are.
Though at the end of the day, I love that orange. I love that coach and I love the quality of recruits we capture.
Make us proud, Tigers. Take our passion for your success as an adder for the passion you have for playing in orange. We love you no matter what.
We are all tigers at the end of the day. Some of us love to push buttons (me included), but nobody in this thread doesn’t love our tigers. That’s a fact.

I can’t disagree with you any more.
This member cares and thinks more of his/herself far more than they care about Clemson.
It’s exposed with almost each and every post, and it’s obvious. It’s obvious, which frankly makes your continual defense that much more disturbing.

if you think I’m “taking shots” at our football team by saying that I don’t think we are a national championship contender this year.
My, you are a sensitive one!
If people here are being honest, they don’t see a championship contender this year either. But as I said, the season is a long way away and hopefully we improve a lot between now and then.
Don’t worry, Dabo’s legacy is cemented even if we never get back to the top of the mountain under him. Nothing that happens, and nothing that anyone can say about him, takes away from his outstanding accomplishments. Chin up!

I do agree that we will have to pull a rabbit out of the hat to be playing for a football National title this year(hope I’m wrong). Our recruiting on the O line fell behind and outside of Nagata we don’t have those super receivers of Hopkins Watkins Higgins and Ross. I don’t see a Watson or Lawrence in the fold either. However in time I think Cade could get us there but definitely not DJ. Also If Brownell snd Lee don’t find a rabbit they will both only have one more year. Monte can recruit but he can’t coach. Brownell can coach but he can’t recruit.??

2 hours fans were not whining about Clemson Basketball? Dude, fact is no one even THINKS about CU Basketball other than you and Mountaineer. Call it part of the problem, but it is what it is. If not for a starting player walking off the team this week, no one really would have thought of Brad's boys...

I disagree. A lot of people here care about our our BB program, but are not happy with the trajectory. Everybody wants better. If they don’t, they are likely a coot. Some just have differing opinions on what to do to make us successful.
That’s all.

This team is absolutely capable of winning the ACC and making the playoff.
I don’t think we have a very good basketball coach, so there’s another opinion for you

You forgot to mention one thing Judge…..Dabo and the football team on their worse day will still be better than Brownell and the basketball team on their best day……and that my friend is never going to change as long as Dabo and Brownell are the coaches at Clemson!

You can’t tell if we are a contender or not based on a spring game with half our team missing. I always laugh at these “my take” posts from the sideline “experts”. As if they hope Phil Steele is going to offer them $50 to use their tigernet post in his upcoming magazine.

We easily have a top 5 defense
Apr 10, 2022, 3:08 PM
|
|
and a soft schedule in September which should give us plenty of time to sort out our issues on offense and build confidence. An October game against an improved Ncstate team will be our first test and we draw Miami and a game on the road at Notre Dame which should give us a SOS where 1 loss, provided we win the ACC title, gets us into the playoffs. From there, it is really the luck of the draw, who is healthy and peaking at the right time. But again, on defense, we should be as good as anyone in the nation, and that will keep us in every game.

No question about the defense being maybe our best ever or at least as good as the 2018 bunch. If it had not been for the defense we would have had a losing season last year. I’m hoping Streeter is going to be our answer to get us some creativity going on offense. We stayed with Robbie to long and Our current receivers coach is going to have to match Jeff Scott in recruiting.

What is going on with all these injuries and players out? Injuries plagued us all last season and both of our last Spring Games! It has never been this bad!!!! You don't practice or play you never get any better!
