I know in the corporate world when that happens it either means your are getting bought/sold, or (and here's the relevant part) there's lots of internal changes happening that folks don't like.
I dunno, maybe AD figured he rode the football bus for 2 NC's and saw it wasn't happening again anytime soon. Maybe its just coincidence.

all he does is spend. he's good at raising funds and spending them to expand programs. he did it at Tech, did it here. We're kind of done growing and spending...need someone to sustain now, IMO.

so I don't know whether to be impressed with him or not. Seems grad rates were pretty high while he was there, football won 2 NC's, and I'm sure some other good sports stuff happened (except for Brown L is STILL there), so...yeah.
I mean I get he had little to do with any of that (except Brown L still being there) so I guess he was OK?
Just realized Brown-L is feeling the EXACT same way I am today: "Uh oh...new boss coming. Does that mean I'm going to have to work now, or will they just come in and can me for what I haven't already done?"

every day Clemson's still paying him is just gravy. Kind of like an ex girlfriend you're still banging, you aren't bothering to take her out to dinner or anything, but you'll keep showing up for booty calls and ride the train to the end of the line.

single CFP appearance for a Final Four. No one cares. And no other sport matters other tham to sit out and watch in nice weather or to cheer on from pleasant campus locales.
Do you think baseball, men's ro women's basketball, or any other sport could have led to the development and price gouging in and around Clemson the way the football program has? The Clemson economy is built on football. Do you think any other sport would lead to the student body growth we've seen?
Football is king at Clemson.
Period.

it would be very well supported. We suck and people still show up. Football was certainly the main driver behind our growth, but they're leaving a lot of money on the table tolerating a ###### basketball program.

Go hire the Spurrier of coaches, who ever that is, and pay him football type money.

Program that makes the NCAA (makes, not wins or even wins several rounds) tourney 3 out of every 5 years? We’re spending $120+M a year as an athletic dept. That has nothing to do with endowment or alumni base. Death Valley is pretty freaking nice…..we are about to drop another $67M on the place while Littlejohn sits there like it’s 1980 and players are practicing in Jervey which is equal to the average middle school gym.
We just need someone to give a sh##.

He's a rearranger.
Rearrange how tickets are priced, iptay donor perks, etc. He's a fundraiser and a capital investment guy. Did it at GT, did it here. Done.
His stock is rightfully high right now and UM is I think doubling his pay. The attraction at UM is that there is really nothing but upside for DRad there.

Can't remember his name, but he was an old dude. Super nice, and super gullible. One day each week we just played spanish versions of board games instead of having class. We played a lot of Ouija board. Don't think you could get away with that now.
Also, one time Frank B asked him for the spanish word for dild0, and when teacher got a quizzical look on his face and said he didn't know that word, Frank told him it was a kind of meat substitute.
That #### was hilarious in middle school.
Also, one other day Dave showed off his butterfly knife to all of us and claimed he was going to stab Austin. We ratted him out and he got kicked out of school. What a #######. But I'm pretty sure he just wanted to get kicked out of school anyway.
