BOOM! Well said! I think Dabo is already prepping for Georgia. That game will mean a LOT more than a Gator Bowl against Kentucky.

Bowl games are tricky to predict these days. With the opt outs and trying to decide which team is motivated to win its a tough proposition.

Well, KY DID LOSE to USuC. There is that. If our offense can just run the xxxx ball and score, the Gator Bowl should be over b4 we finish lunch.
But then again, if CJ Spiller would have caught the TD pass that went thru his hands, in the endzone, in the Music City Bowl vs Kentucky...
Just saying. We did find many ways to lose games in 2023.

They have another Stoops as their coach.
Oklahoma’s finest as their coach, he’s taking this game seriously expecting everyone to play!

At the risk of sounding like a complete smart**s:
They did finish 4th in the SEC East. we know what a chore that is. They hung 35 on Akron, 45 on SEC stalwart Vanderbuilt, 33 on SEC hopeful Florida ranked 22 at the time They also beat an obviously over ranked ACC team, 10th ranked Louisville 38-31 They only lost by 38 to Georgia, 17 to Miuzzou, 6 to Tennessee, Alabama snuck by them by 27 High marks on style points, wow factor, "it" factor and another BS you can think of.
At 7-5, I'd say you're looking at a shoe-in for a top-12 playoff spot for next year!

I'm expecting an ugly, low scoring game. Their DL is good, and they got a baby eating war daddy right in the middle. He should eat against your OL. Stoops has said he's expecting his full roster to play. I think it's going to depend on how many more players Clem loses. Should be a game Clem should win, but I'd be weary if any more contributors hit the portal/NFL.

If UofSC beat them, how good can they really be?

The only reason this game will be close is if Clemson has A LOT of opt outs.
While I agree their rush defense is solid, they are atrocious against the pass allowing nearly 400 per game through the air.
In terms of total defense, Clemson will be the best, by far, that Kentucky has faced this year, and without Ray Davis (and possibly O'Leary), their offensive production will be much more limited, which doesn't bode well for a team that ranks in the bottom half of the SEC in total offence.

All games are close if you score 17 points - a number we failed to eclipse in 5 out of 10 games against FBS opponents.
I'm not sure Kentuckys defensive weakness against the pass will be a huge liability against a clemson offense that can't throw the football. Being sturdy against the run is much more important to defend our offense.

Their weakness on D is also your weakness on O. That's doesn't exactly match up with you guys too well. As I said, it's going to be an ugly low scoring game, that might be decided by how many players clemson loses between now and then.

They are well coached but horrible to watch

They want to run the ball and control the clock, and then play solid defense. Their defense is decent but not spectacular this year. As is often the case with Stoops' Kentucky teams, they do not throw the football particularly well, although Leary was slightly more efficient than Cade was this year.
Honestly, they are a less talented version of 2023 Clemson because our defense is elite and theirs is merely above average. If they beat us it will likely be due to either turnovers (how they beat Louisville) or because Clemson lost a ton of defensive guys to the NFL draft / portal that don't play in the bowl game and the playing field gets leveled.
If I were predicting how this game goes I would say its likely going to be fairly short as far as CFB games go because both teams will run the ball alot, and I think it will be extremely offensive to any fans that enjoy offense. Whoever hits 20 points will probably win.

My hubby is a Kentucky alum, so I've watched them alot. RB Davis, if he doesn't opt out, is really good, and if he can get to the second level has break away speed and moves. QB Leary isn't very good, and their WRs can't catch, lol. Their defense isn't great, especially against the pass. Clemson should easily cover the spread, unless we turn the ball over a lot.

They can't throw it well and running game is mediocre. That is not a recipe for success against Clemson's defense. We should score 28 to 31, but remember that an SRC defense!!!LOL!

Decent defense, one dimensional offense. Clemson will stuff them, but may struggle to score. I see a 17-10 game, Clemson wins
