I can not believe people in the state of SC wouldn't enjoy something where you can beat other folks with a stick under the guise of a game. Seems right up our alley.

However we would get destroyed in D-1 if we formed an NCAA team. Virginia, Duke, ND, Syracuse, UNC are all ELITE lax teams

True, we would have to take an approach such as Furman did. Hire a well-established coach and try to put out offers almost immediately. Not easy but Furman has already looked better 3 years into Division 1 Lacrosse.

Our area has long been an area with good golfers - lacrosse = not so much.
It is easier to be successful early with a small individual sport than a large team sport that needs depth.

And lacrosse is growing on the coast as well, but we still do not have the high school teams like the mid Atlantic and lower New England states.

The ACC schools that are good in the south aren't really southern schools.
