Who do you think called for the nickel D in the 4th quarter?

None of us know...and many assume it was Wes.
But what if it was Dabo? What if Dabo called for the conservative approach on offense and defense once we took the lead?
I'm not saying he did. But I do remember during BV's last 2 seasons, Dabo was constantly in the defensive huddle on the sidelines before big plays. He definitely became more assertive those last 2 years.
People are piling on Wes, and some are giving Riley a pass because they think Dabo is meddling in the play calling. I don't know if he is, but if he's calling the shots on offense, who's to say he isn't handcuffing the defense as well?
I hoping for another ACC championship this weekend, and then at least a win or two in the playoffs, if not more.
But I really hope for some reflection and self-evaluation at the top of the program whenever the season is over. We've had it so good for over a decade, its hard to take the idea of a decline.

but I'm 99.9% sure it was Dabo who likely decided to go conservative after the Barnes INT and onside recovery. He did the same thing (and admitted so) vs the coots last year and it worked. This year it didn't work because our defense is pathetic. Notice that on the last drive when Riley was turned loose we looked unstoppable.

Nailed it CUAtTheFinishLine®
Wes was hired and everyone knew he was green.
Riley is LEGIT. You've seen what he can do.....
We have a roster management issue & not enough talented depth. We (not anyone else) choose not to fill holes
This can be corrected quickly and we don't have to wait until July....

constantly putting pressure on the defense is not a great plan. Yes it can work, does work, but it also fails to work a lot of times.
It is not as if the offense cannot score, is it ?? App State/NCSU days seem so long ago.
Offense needs to be complimentary, and score when defense gives them the ball back. Or a team kicks onsides and you go 3 and out. Playcalling "scared", or "conservative" does have a place and I understand it. But up by 1 score....14 points is all Clemson scored with well over 400 yards offense.

I think Dabo is way more involved in this defense than we know.

There was point late in 2nd Quarter, where the TV showed Dabo, and he was signaling in signs to defense along w other coaches. I did a double take when I saw it. Was kind of weird seeing it, that’s why it stands out.
I think Goodwin is gone. Failed experiment.
