the most noticeable difference between minor league and college play was the lack of over the top scripted celebrations.
Guy got a home run, he jogged around the bases, got a high five from the on deck batter, received pats on the back, after he was in the dugout
Several doubles were hit, nothing more than a fist pump.
To me it felt like the muted celebrations were more genuine than the over the top, choreographed celebrations we see in the college game.
The crowd wasn’t any less engaged without all the histrionics, good play seemed to be expected rather than something unusual to be massively celebrated.
TL : DR - get off my lawn and quit showing off just play ball
In other words
Act like you’ve been there before

And the celebrations annoyed me greatly. Every hit was celebrated as a walk off homerun.

Nerf basketball hoops and such but I feel like that has been a while. I don't know what to call the things our boys do when they get a double, but it doesn't bug me.

These are still kids having fun playing the game. NIL aside, it's not a 'job' for them yet. I coached kids from 7 to 18 over my years, and I would have loved to see more of them get excited and have that kind of passion for the game. It's great watching the skills of professionals, but it's even better watching kids who are getting pure joy out of playing a game that they love.

I'm not talking about you got a single with 2 outs in the 8th inning to score the go ahead run. I mean like you got a single in the 4th with nobody on amd 2 outs... pump your first, sure. Acting like you just scored a walkoff homerun, nah... thats dumb.
Saw a clip of a batter who was celebrating a walk in the 8th when his team was down by like 7 runs. I mean slung his bat, beat his chest and slow walked to 1st... nope, get that out of here.

OK, I say we lobby the NCAA to assess a 15-yard penalty to any baseball player who expresses emotion of any kind. Maybe make them sit out the next game too for 'Emotional Targeting'.
WE HAVE TO STOP THIS MADNESS.
