Curious who agrees that how we start the FSU game is

the key to this one. Talent - reasonably even. Motivation - even. Coaching- even (benefit of the doubt to our staff for the time being). If we start fast, it wouldn't surprise me for us to win by 10+. If we are flat to start the game, and FSU starts well, doubt will quickly creep in with our players and our fans, and we'd risk losing the home field advantage, depending on whether we can rebound quickly. We largely have fans that don't quit in the face of adversity, so I expect our fans to keep being loud, even in the face of some adversity, but I could see that loud support fading, if we continue to struggle throughout the game. Of course, all of this assumes a roughly even turnover margin. We easily could have overcome the bad start at Duke, but we didn't, so for now it's safe to assume that this year's team needs a reasonably good start against a foe like FSU to win. My best guess is a close game that could go either way at the end. I'm not expecting domination in either direction. Too much pride all the way around.

Nice post.
I can't believe anyone can say that with a straight face.
People have a need to "understand" what they' see on a football field. It's like clockwork. I actually heard an ESPN commentator say that Nick Saban has not recruited enough talent to win like he used to. What kind of idiotic logic is that? Why not just say "I don't really know what I'm talking about, so I'm gonna throw this out there"?
At least it's honest.

While a fast start and early lead would be great, it's a 60-minute game and these are two very talented teams with lots of weapons about between them. Judging from the mood on T-Net, I worry more about fans grumbling too much early if something goes awry and taking some energy out of the joint. If everybody goes the distance Saturday and doesn't get too up or too down, we should come out on top somewhat comfortably.
I'm really expecting a great game from our boys and a great game for Tiger Nation.
Go Tigers!

Not according recruiting services.
People make their own subjective talent metrics depending on wins and loses each week. It's just an opinion, and not real, but it happens.
I remember when Dabo won the ACC with Tommy Bowden' players. Case in point...same players went from "not talented" to "very talented" in a span of 2 yrs.

I don't know, man. We were still leading at halftime against Duke. I don't think a slow start doomed us in that one. We started fast against Charleston Southern and then didn't look great in the third quarter with starters still playing. We need to start fats and then continue to play well. We haven't played well for a full 60 minutes in any of our three games so far.

We did not start fast, it was a continuation of the Duke game.

I'd rather see us start fast and steal some of their belief early. I think we might be a better team playing ahead, with some momentum, rather than coming from behind. I think BC rattled them and we can do the same if our "D" gets after them and our "O" smacks them early. I definitely do not want to see them get a fast start against us.
