but I don't care what happens this weekend as long as we beat the Coots next weekend.
Beating Wake would be nice, but does nothing for us.
Beating SC would be a much more satisfying win in my opinion.

of course, I WANT us to win, but if it comes down to Wake or SC I'm going with SC because the chances of us getting enough outside help to make the ACCCG is so slim even with beating Wake.
I don't want to listen to SC fans for an entire year.

Beating Wake keeps our dream of a 7th straight ACC

Championship alive, even if we would still need outside help. Lose, and that dream is over.
Beating the Coots is ALWAYS a priority, but is really only worth something to us as Clemson fans. The rest of the country does not really care about this rivalry much, because South Carolina has never been consistently good enough for it to be meaningful to both sides from a rankings standpoint.
That is one thing that makes our current six game win streak over them so sweet. They knew, going into this game ahead of time, each and every year, that they could have completely spoiled our seasons and kept us out of the playoffs, and they STILL couldn't get a W.

I graduated in 1979. I was in attendance in their filthy stadium for the great 1977 game. I remember the fights after the game when they would randomly attack anyone in orange. I will always consider their fans as the most vile, despicable human beings I have ever had the displeasure to encounter--then and now. To me, a victory over their inbred dregs is of paramount importance.

that beating Wake is essential since Clemson can still win the ACC Atlantic which would set-up a rematch with Pitt in the ACCCG.

The Tiger team I have watched all year better not show up in Columbia or a lot of us will be very unhappy.
Do you honestly believe that the team you saw play, at home, against BC or GT or FSU can go into WiiyB and win? I have my doubts unless something great happens Saturday.

With the way our offense has been playing it's certainly possible we could lose. However, you say can the team we saw play against BC, GT, or FSU beat them and I say yes. BC beat the same Missouri team that just beat South Carolina. The UCONN team we just beat 44-7 only lose 30-28 to Vandy and Vandy had to kick a last second field goal to win that game. That's the same Vandy team that South Carolina had to score a last minute touchdown against to beat at home. Yes, we have issues, but we're still better than South Carolina.

Bigger picture is that a win keeps the ACCCG hopes alive. But we've got the longest home winning streak in the country, and longest in school history. Would be awesome to keep that going! Last home loss was Pittsburgh in 2016 I believe.
