How many licks does it take to get to the center of a lollipop?
How many coaching terminations does it take to figure out that Dabo is the problem
Dabo’s special formula and special talent was bringing the right people together and doing what he does best, motivating them.

Probably more like Terry Don Phillips and even Radakovich vetoed the nepo hires. Neff is just another yes man letting Dabo hire who he wants.

Just posted this exact thing on another forum. Neff is nothing but another Dabo lackey and with the loss of Venerables…. I love Dabo, but he’s not good without checks and balances.

And now I'm sad for knowing this too. ChatGPT confirms. And we should have been smarter and sent the game to overtime:
What Happens in Your Case
Offense rushes the field goal unit on with ~12 seconds left, clock running.
By rule, the defense must be allowed to substitute. The official will hold the snap until they do.
If this delay causes time to expire, that’s just the consequence — the offense took the risk by subbing without a timeout.
So yes: the defense absolutely has the right to sub in this situation, and the officials would enforce it by standing over the ball. That can, in practice, run out the clock and send the game to overtime.

If the eventual kick is made, coach will always be second-guessed..... I was surprised, only because he's attempted to freeze kickers in the past. I understand putting the pressure on GT to substitute and execute - just didn't work out this time.

Yes, and it's not only about icing the kicker...if he misses the FG we have the ball at close to midfield with a TO; if he makes it, well, we improbably responded in a similar situation in ACC Championship game. Best choice there is to sub and bleed clock out; next best choice obviously to call timeout

Good to know…seems like an obvious loophole teams could exploit to prevent last second field goals when no timeouts left…like today. 🤣
From the rules, (according to the internet):
Late in the first half Team A is out of timeouts. A pass play on third down ends inbounds at the B-25 short of the line to gain with the game clock showing 0:10. Facing fourth down and three, Team A immediately hurries its field goal team onto the field. RULING: Team B should reasonably expect that Team A will attempt a field goal in this situation and should have its field-goal defense unit ready. The umpire will not stand over the ball, as there should be no issue of the defense being uncertain about the next play.
