The Varsity vs. Skins

I'm sure a lot of you will be going to The Varsity maybe for the first time while you're here in Atlanta this weekend.
If you've been to The Varsity and to Skins in the Clemson area before, which do you think has the better hotdog?
I eat Varsity hotdogs all the time since I live here but can't wait for a Skin's dog when I'm in Clemson.
I can't tell which I like better since they're not exactly the same.

Like all fast-food, it depends on how fresh......

sometimes you can get chili at The Varsity that tastes like it's old. Also, IMO, the main Varsity on North Avenue is better than the other locations - can't say exactly why.

As an Atlanta resident from Greenville area--SKINS hands down. The V is overpriced, overcrowded, and mediocre in quality. Can't beat Skins' hotdogs.
My buddies swear by the V, and they credit my dislike to not ordering the right thing....so it's whatever you like.

The Varsity is not even the best hot dog in Atlanta. According to Atlanta Magazine that honor goes to Brandi's World Amous Hot Dogs in Marietta. I love Skins when I'm in the upstate but it doesn't compare to Brandi's.

Skins hands down. The Varsity is much like The Beacon, it is one of those places everyone has to go to when in the area because of the history, not the food. Skins is just a great hotdog.
I grew up in Anderson and the original Skins was a staple for summer Saturday lunch. My favorite story about that place is when a grandfather aged man took his wife there for the first time. They parked and she refused to get out of the car much less eat at "that dump." Her huband went in side and came back out with Skin. Skin asked the lady if she would like to eat lunch with the Governor and his wife. She said she would love to and he invited her inside where she had hotdogs with the Governor and his wife.
