I played basketball in Carmichael Auditorium

Back in the summers of 1977-79 I went to wrestling camp at UNC with my high school team. The mats were set up each day on the basketball court. After practice we would roll up the mats and play basketball. That was a big deal back in the day.
I also had to run the steps which went from the court floor to the ceiling. I wondered then how many of the UNC greats had run those same steps.
Dean Smith also yelled at us in the cafeteria, because we cut in front of his basketball campers (who didn't get to play in Carmichael). Hahahahaha

Good story!
Years ago we took my grandsons who were like 4 and 7 to Clemson for the day to walk around the campus. We had parked behind the football stadium so the older one could try out his new bike. When we returned to the car i decided to see if we could get into Death Valley. Sure enough the gate was open and we walked in and sat on the 50 yd line. Also went in the visitor locker rooms which were a dump back then..20ish years ago.
Acouple of years later we went to the Furman campus here in gvl and sure enough the gate to the football stadium was unlocked. We went in there and kicked their soccer ball around and tried to kick field goals.
Amazing what you can walk into just by looking like you know what you are doing.

I get it! Cool memory. I also always wanted to go to Cole Field House. Len Bias was one of my alltime favorite college basketball players. Broke my heart.

Saw him play at Littlejohn a few times. There were so many great players back then in the ACC.

No fear. Arrived on Clemson campus ready to go and was one of the best players in the ACC as a freshman. Clemson basketball would have been changed forever if he had stayed for at least three years.

I also went to wrestling camp there but you are a little older than me. I did not get yelled at by Dean though. I want my camp fees back!
