I recall in the mid-90s we go into Riggs and play Warcraft on the LAN there. Usually it was against foreign-born TAs. There was a Chinese TA from my controls class that loved to play. I just laugh at him yelling for help when we invaded his town one time.

Age of Empires 2 and Halo 2 were my LAN parties. I remember bringing over a big boxy tv to friends houses to set up the Halo2 parties.

data engineering, and got called out to Dale Earnhardt Jr's house in Mooresville for a site survey. Turns out he had a room in his house dedicated to this with a bunch of stations and we were bringing a T1 into his house for online gaming. Whopping 1.54 Mbps but it was a big deal then, at about $800/month for the service. Turns out he's a giant gaming nerd.

Couple of us would spend all night in a computer lab helping each other out. All text based through telnet. The MUD we played was called STYX. ****nerdalert***
The "God" on the MUD was some dude named Angus, who ran the thing from New Mexico. Well, our astute friend ended up striking up a relationship with Angus' wife, who also had a character on the game. Seems Angus was married with a kid in NM. Friend at Clemson DROVE out to NM to see her. About a month later she shows up at Clemson, and moves in with our friend. No clue what happened to Angus and the kid. Chick lived with friend for probably 4 years, even after I graduated she was around. She ended up leaving the friend for someone else in Greenville. Last I checked, if you google her name, she shows up with several meth arrests.
