Critical by Dabo’s standards though. Which is refreshing.

Did no one ask him about Tyler Davis?

He was asked about Tyler Davis on Saturday and said he was just held out for being “banged up,” so he’s counted in the non-major elements of the injury report.

Perfect. That makes me feel better about playing a team that has nothing to lose.

He shot pretty straight - pointed out the good and the bad.

Just like me, and any other honest, non-brain dead fan, he was disappointed in the defense. He was disappointed in the lack of "juice". "I didn't like the way we played defensively at all". He didn't like the way our offense stalled in the second half. He acknowledged that we have yet to put 4 quarters of solid football together (we are sloppy and inconsistent). He acknowledged that we can play a lot better, and will have to if we are going to win the ACC. On the positive side, DJ improved and had a good game, The O-Line played better, allowed no sacks and averaged 5.2 yds per carry.
I think that's a very fair assessment. He knows we have a lot of work to do, and I'm sure they will get to work on fixing all of the things we all saw that need fixing. While he didn't villify or obliterate any individual or group, he acknowledged the problems. That's exactly what I expect from a coach, and the way it should be. I don't know what anybody else could expect.

Glad to hear that Davis should be OK, certainly in two weeks. The defense clearly mailed it in but just hurt their stats and rankings as we were never in doubt of losing the game. It seems they weren't too interested until Furman got in our red zone and then they woke up. Certainly not up to our standard and Dabo was (as usual) too kind to them - at least in public. I'm not concerned with the defense however, when it comes down to it BUT we will give up points so the offense needs to improve and still is a work in progress at best. Hopefully another week of work will show up in the OL and perhaps getting Randal in there will upgrade the receivers. Maybe the two freshmen will set the standard that the older guys are simply not getting it done (so far) for the second year in a row! Let's just keep everyone healthy this week so we are good to go when the season starts again in two weeks.

I think the team has been set on " cruise control " from game one. Sure we make some great plays on occasion on defense. That's simply because we are so #### loaded on that side of the ball it's inevitable. Walt until this team gets fired up. Yall know what I'm talking about and we haven't seen it. Its coming though. You'll begin to see some of it in the Wake game. But we definitely have something special waiting for Mr Doeren and crew.

yeah they definitely seemed to be going through the motions against a "perceived" cupcake which can sometimes be dangerous (ask Texas A&M, although at this point if ANY team takes App State lightly is fooling themselves), i think Dabo was more disappointed in not living up to the standard of "taking every opponent seriously" every week. Times like this is where we start to see what our new coordinators are made of in lighting a fire under these boys
