Right. I don't remember when the purple for Military Appreciation Day started, but I always thought it tied in well with purple heart earned by a military hero and Clemson football player Daniel Rodriguez.

i've expounded on this subject more than once.very simple,based on true facts not opinion-the complement of orange is blue,and the complement of purple is yellow.suggest that people look at what is known in the art world as the color wheel:red,blue,and yellow are primary colors,while orange,green,and purple are secondary colors,the result of mixing the primaries.red and blue yield purple.red and yellow-orange.blue and yellow-green.juxtaposing 2 secondaries,in this case orange and purple,doesn't necessarily yield what is pleasing to the eye.to back my argument,i have yet to see a real TIGER with any colors other than orange,black,and white.if you notice,fla. gators have blue/orange combos,and lsu yellow/purple.those are the correct combos.this may offend some others,but it's simply a fact.

Not sure that the color purple has any particular military significance, but at least we don’t resort to some sort of silly “Camo” look for the players.

Just in general, I'd like to see a combo of a white jersey with purple lettering outlined in orange, a purple helmet with an orange Paw, and purple pants with orange striping. If we really wanted to go crazy, use a white helmet with a purple Paw and orange striping. I actually liked the Oregon uniforms they wore this weekend. I know they use some interesting neon combinations but I like their creativity and you have to believe the players get fired up by it.

I agree, bud. In fact, I hate ANY combination involving either the purple pants or jerseys. And, I wish the purple pants were burned, never to be seen again. Those things are hideous. Orange jersey, white pants. White Jersey, orange pants. White pants, white jersey. I’m so glad that Coach Swinney got rid of the majority of that color uniform diversity crap when he became coach. The orange pants are now reserved only for special occasions, as it should always have been. I can understand the rationale for wearing the all purple stuff on military appreciation day, and I can tolerate that as long as that’s the only time it is done. Just my opinion, but I’m in the minority with you as well. Go Tigers!

I like Orange in The Valley, White on the road and Purple on that one day a year when it's appropriate.
Being that I like watching our games at home, I can justify Orange as my favorite. I like the rebelliousness of destroying massive numbers of fans in their stadium so White comes in a close second. I appreciate the purpose of Purple too and it's nothing for me to wear purple every now and then.
If we're talking like, I like them all.
If we're talking love, I love the white on white because it speaks to my contempt for fans of other schools. That's also why I love close road games. It keeps the home-fans in their seats until the final play and even the silent moans of mourning of their hearts is much louder than the slamming of their car doors during the third quarter.
I'll forego sharing my heartbreaking motives for loving Purple.
Overall, I'd say I love all our colors.

You’ll see the all Purple variant, which I don’t like very much at all for the MA day. Then Danny’s Orange Britches will be worn at Miami and the rest of the season. State championship, ACC championship, then playoffs.
