geezer topic: anybody try grape juice and certo for achy joints?

somebody recommended it to Mrs No a while back, anecdotal comments support it. 2 teaspoon Certo (used in canning preserves, etc) and grape juice. We tried it, not a miracle cure but seemed to help. But we haven't been able to maintain the habit. Anybody heard of/tried this?

and a tumeric refining like DOSE or just a tumeric vitamin.
That will do the job without the extra work.

individual vitamin/supplements. I do not. I'm stiff in the morning, which is great in bed, but a lil achy for a few minutes in the am, and after certain activity, like on the floor/ground crawling around a while, or a day of yard work.

I had never heard of this, just spent about 6 minutes reading about it so take this FWIW, but it is pectin, which is a soluble fiber you’ll find naturally in fruits, largely in the non edible parts like the skin, seeds, core, etc. It’s a natural thickening agent, which is why it’s used in fruit preserves & jams etc.
We can’t absorb it, our GI tract lacks the requisite enzymes to break it down. However, it gets fermented by the microbiome of our colon into a short-chain fatty acid, which we can absorb and use.
Some people think it has anti inflammatory properties, it’s good for colon health as it is one of our gut bacteria’s favorite foods, and it seems to act in our pancreases and livers as an upregulatory cofactor in various pathways in our metabolism of glucose and lipids. It may also upregulate GLUT-1, a protein that acts like a gateway for glucose on skeletal muscles in particular. This is going to help with insulin resistance.
Its use as a medicine is not well studied at all, no real strong evidence one way or another.

habit that can help. We don't have an issue that requires any medication, but always appreciate anything that is an upregulatory cofactor in various pathways in our metabolism of glucose and lipids, plus potentially upregulating GLUT-1. In fact, I was just mentioning this to Mrs No as we watched the sunset over the mountains from our front porch, wit a cheap cab sav and Ghiradelli 86% squares.

red wine and dark chocolate, on a porch with a view of the sunset over the mountains, can lead to less inflammation and joint pain.

some. I'm thinking all of these home remedies may happen to help a little, but mostly in our heads. But we've got a few gallons of grape juice and a couple boxes of Certo to use up. Seemed to help, but we dint get the habit established.
