The long lead item in our turnaround was the AD properly supporting the team. Brad is still the same coach as he was in the early years but now has the support required to be a very good program. Even a LF member should be able to understand but I guess not

They told themselves for years that we supported basketball great at Clemson. They were never willing or able to admit that our funding and support for basketball was horrible.

Since UNC has great support and funding of its men's basketball program, Brownell will probably win the NC in his first season there.

So you’re say Brad hasn’t gotten better after 15 years of doing the same thing?
That doesn’t sound right
Pretty sure no one has said he has not grown in the job over 14 years but let me walk you through it, so we have a common understanding. Many wanted to fire CBB in years 5-9ish based on him being a terrible coach as he had not produced the success many expected. They claimed our woes was based solely on CBB's incompetence. Then we rebuilt LJ adding some player amenities, allowed CBB to hire better quality staff and funded NIL so we could bring in better players. We now have the program many claimed they wanted in terms of frequent trips to the Dance and finishing in the top half of the league. It's a stretch to believe a light came on for CBB in year 9 which has led to our improved program and discount all the other things our AD did for the program.

Still well beyond what it could be and never will get the support it needs... But BB has certainly grown as a coach .. I'm not saying your wrong but I'd like to hear your argument of what support he gets now that has lead to wins that he didnt have before?
Also, it helps a lot that we get those extra years now from guys that just didn't exist a few yrs ago. Helps a lot when your best player comes back for his 6th yr and he is the leading scorer, FT shooter and 3 pt shooter.... I love BB, just throwing that out there.

Lol. Hubert Davis will at least get one more year
Now Brad Brownell might be a secondary candidate at Indiana if they can't get Chris Beard or Bruce Pearl.

Yeah, I see what you are saying. Coach Brownell will probably just use the North Carolina job to get more cash from Clemson and a 10 year guaranteed contract with more perks.

YOU sayin we should have given him more rope? This isn't football and I'm aware you don't set expectations for future performance (because you are afraid). Only performance 10-15 years ago that is well within our rear-view mirror. Thanks for not trying to steal others' fun. JHC, Enjoy this terrible season!

So he would have been successful given a few extra years? Maybe gotten to the playoffs, or even a decent bowl game. It’s a stretch. Heard he had issues with Wake Forest, some coaches don’t.

Why lol? This is year 4 and the program is clearly moving backwards. Duke seemingly finding its legs quickly under Scheyer ups the pressure. His buyout is less than a year’s salary which is considerably less than Brad’s. There is very little incentive for them to keep him at this point. I’d say it’s 50/50 as of today.

UNC is not giving him another year. They take that historically great BB program seriously. He's out. They will get a proven winning coach. Would not be surprised if they try to get the Uconn coach. I know he has a big buy out, but it would be hard to turn down UNC JOB.

Bobby Hurley’s brother ain’t gonna coach at UNC and Tarhole fans would never accept such a move. They’ll keep it in the family and choose another failure. Potentially not a DEI one this time.

But I feel like he deserves another year. But if they do, they'll make a run at Nate Oats and throw the bank at him.. however Bama got more money now and plenty of resources, NIL setup, etc.
It's just a matter of if he wants that high profile job or not.

And the way things are looking they are not gonna make a tournament 2 out of his 4 seasons. That isn't acceptable at UNC. Heck we want BB fired for that at Clemson.

Brad is at his last job. Retired, resigned, fired, doesn’t matter. At his place in life he wouldn’t want to start over with all new players, NIL contacts and funds, and year round recruiting of current and future players.
