I Haven't Watched a Ton of Golf This Year or Since LIV

The CBS chards were distinctly cold in talking about LIV players, seemed biased. Phil Mickelson finishing with a 65 was crazy good and it was hardly mentioned by Jim Nance and crew.

other houses, that the CBS crew, as well as the golfers themselves, had been given some very explicit instructions not to mention anything about the LIV Tour. And, as Gary McCord can attest, Augusta National don't play, they will ban you in a heartbeat if they think you have demeaned them in any way, even unintentionally.

CBS/PGA would welcome and spotlight a transgender golfer. Or a golfer from a country that hated America. Just don't compete with them. (Translation: It's all about money)

I agree they went out of their way not to mention "LIV" or "LIV Tour" or any other direct reference.
But, I thought they were very appreciative and complimentary of Phil's play on Sunday. They even commented he might be a factor in the US Open this year.

The PGA has a $700 million deal with CBS Sports...

NBC Sports, and ESPN that runs through 2030. I suspect that new deal included a stipulation about giving very much, if any, any air time to LIV players, which was very noticeable in CBS' coverage of The Masters.

In the post finish interview with Phil by Amanda Renner she made a reference to LIV as “another tour”. I believe that’s probably as far as CBS would allow. I thought both were gracious in an interview that was a little bit awkward.

Natnz's subtle dig at Koepka's ball being "on the cw"
Apr 10, 2023, 9:41 AM

Was beneath someone of his caliber. The ball was indeed on a crosswalk, but the LIV golf broadcast is on the CW, so it seems saying "CW" instead of "crosswalk" was intentional. I don't like Koepka, but that seems very petty.

His confidence doesn’t bug me for some reason. Actually, very few if any arrogant/smug major sports stars bug me.
However, there are d1cks out there that bug me. But I don’t think of Koepka as a d1ck. Perhaps he is a bit on an a$s at times, but not a d1ck.
I am reminded of a pivotal scene in Team America: World Police that sums up my thoughts on this item.

BS, they talked about Phil a bunch. He had no chance to win and was done way before Rahm and Koepka. FYI, Koepka is LIV and he was on tv the whole day.
Find something else to be offended with.

3 of the top 5 were from LIV. Not a bad showing.

As others have said it’s obvious there was a from the top edict on not playing up the PGA vs Liv tours. I mean I understand why, but it also made the tournament boring as hell considering that’s really the only main thing going in golf these days.
The tournament has ALWAYS been starched, but I think it hurt them more than usual this year as the major story in golf is tour vs tour.
