What happens if Biden falls over and dies mid October? Obviously Kamala becomes POTUS, but what happens with the election? It's not that far fetched.

Trump might have a chance vs Harris

There is only one candidate Joe Biden can beat, and the GOP was stupid enough to nominate him
Vs Kamala though, Trump might (emphasis on might) have a chance

Kamala would get crushed. Biden may as well. I obviously hope not.

Not a Poli-Sci major, but I did watch the West Wing series!
Harris being promoted to the top of the ticket would seem the likely situation.
That said, per CNN article the Party National Committee (republican or democrat) would be empowered to follow their process for each party.
Democrats – The Democratic National Committee is empowered to fill a vacancy on the national ticket after the convention under party rules, after the party chair consults with Democratic governors and congressional leadership.
Republicans – If a vacancy occurs on the Republican side, the Republican National Committee can either reconvene the national convention or select a new candidate itself.
I would imagine given that this has never happened all of the various State election boards would try to make the change happen. But obviously, the closer to election day, the harder making that change would be. I am sure there are deadlines regarding creating ballots, etc. And I am sure "states" willingness to implement the change would be affected by which party candidate died. So you would have to expect some shenanigans.
Unfortunately, I think it is a likely situation that both candidates will not be able to complete the upcoming term. I saw an article that showed the average lifespan in 2018 of a college educated person was around 84. Both went to college so you assume they have had access to great healthcare. That said, I assume Biden has probably lived a more healthy life, but he has 2 years on President Trump. President Trump, though younger, likes the fast food, and may enjoy a more riskier life style. So again, I think either is a coin flip regarding if they can make it the distance if elected.
Still disappointed that Haley could not get traction. She would have won in a landslide, and most of the country would be ok with that.

Thanks for the info. As far as Haley, I couldn't agree more.
