The Talent Gap
The Talent Gap During the Bobby Bowden dynasty years at Florida State, the Seminoles usually played a difficult schedule. FSU took on the giants of college football and had three or four mega battles each year. They would play Florida and Miami annually. They would sprinkle in Notre Dame

We're only as vunerable as DW4's health.

If he's relatively healthy, those other teams have no chance. If Nick or Kelly is back there taking snaps, our C-game won't always be enough particularly on the road. DW4 almost single handedly kept things afloat when the Defense had their struggles or we were bitten by the turnover bug (ie. NC State, Syracuse, and SCar). Remember how we lost the turnover battle in like half our games? Even with greater talent, I don't believe our backup QBs are good enough to overcome those kinds of issue on a weekly basis.

Auburn has no talent gap

Auburn had a lot of injuries last year. But some of the names on the roster are players we recruited and would have been starting for us the last 2 years. We take our C game to Auburn and we will return with an L!

I think you might be a little over the top on Auburn. Question marks all over the field, new D-coordinator with a defense that has been average at best the last couple of years. Who scares you on their offense? Besides some guys we recruited like Mount Adams who would start on our team that they have? Maybe a defensive back but Mount Adams isn't any better than our def. tackles that is for sure. Just don't see nearly as much talent as you do.
Could they beat us, sure but it would take their A+ game and our C game for that to happen. Anything else and we squeak out a win or blow them out if things go our way.
I am way more scared about GT on the road then Louisville at home if I am being honest. Something about that game always gives us fits. The same thing could be said about GT as well that they were super young and had a ton of injuries that their lack of depth can't handle.

Auburn has 36 juniors and Seniors, 12 of those had a redshirt year.. that is a lot of experience on the roster. There are a few DEs on the team that we recruited as well as Adams at DT. Carl Lawson comes to mind.

I happen to agree with you.
Clemson fans are taking this game way too lightly.
We should win because we have the better team overall, but this is a huge road test to open the season.
I can see us pulling out a nail biter like we had last year at Louisville.
I really hope I'm wrong and we completely dominate the Auburn Tigers in their own stadium at night in front of 90K Auburn fans.
That would be great!

As long as we prepare a game at a time and don't get too cute or ahead of ourselves, then we should have a good season (health willing).
More humility than hubris never hurt anyone.

Don't forget how Auburn's Nick Farley speared Kyle Parker in the back and KP was never the same. Gotta protect DW4.

respect every opponent you set foot on the field against. (Can you say "The Citadel", boys and girls? I knew you could.) I have not forgotten that it was a loss to Weak Florist that caused me and about 10,000 others to finally send letters to the President asking for Tommy Bowden's dismissal.
I actually think this year will be Dabo's toughest coaching job. He won't be able to play the disrespect card with a straight face, as we will be favored in just about every game. Hopefully the fact that we will have real competition for playing time at most positions will keep the guys focused on the task at hand. NATTY OR BUST!

Hey Mickey, if you wait until November to go to Tallahassee, you will be too late to see the Tigers beat the Noles on October 29.
