Makes a lot of sense when you realize Texas Tech's AD is a former teammate and good friend of Coach V. Kingsbury was making roughly $5 mil/yr there and I have no doubt Venables would be offered at least that much.. it might be tough to resist the job if offered.

Kingsbury would be a great addition to our staff... as far as a QB coach/OC ... in case we lose anyone.
He would have the best offensive talent with 2-3 years left.

Were friends / college roommates. I agree that it would be a bad move but money talks. I also brought it up because our D looked unusually out of sorts on Saturday. Then Dabo makes the comment about “not satisfied with a 21 pt win... time to go somewhere else” statement. I began to wonder if a Venables move was on both their minds. It would explain a whole lot. Now, I hope Brent stays! I really do. He’s been fantastic! That said, everybody has their own personal motives and ambitions. I hope that Brent’s are with Clemson for a while longer.

I think he likes where is family fits at Clemson. I think a move right now would very much disrupt that.
