Don't get how Clemson wouldn't get a bye as ACC Champ

Top four ranked conference champs would be SEC/B1G, then Big XII, then ACC.....right? What other conference champ would outrank Clemson. Wouldn't be AAC after Tulane lost. Please explain.

The topped rank conference champions get 1-4. If we beat smu we won't be ranked 1-4. No should we! but we might get to host a playoff game and that would be awesome in the valley. Tough day. Go Tigers
