Because he wasn't the one with the pressure of being a starter and leading the team.

I think he’s not on the same page with receivers.

He just needs to settle in and play. Spending to much time processing between the ears. Need to go back to tempo and let him just play.

He's obviously rattled. He's proven he can do the job but they need to get him settled down ASAP

He has 2 starts, first game of season, playing one of the best defenses, with an o line that needs work.

He's uncomfortable behind that OL

Pass rush is in his head on every play.
We need some fresh ideas on offense though. Might take a staff shakeup at some point.

Who do you prefer?

Phommachanh couldn’t complete a forward pass in live action last year. He looked better at the end of the spring game but nowhere near DJ.
Who else ya got?

He is taking his sweet time on everything. Decisions in the read option, passes, jogging out into the flat, when he could get some yards rushing up field.

I think that’s what a 6’4” 250 lb. guy looks like running hard.

He doesn't look sharp. I thought he was going to be like Cam Newton. He looks nervous. But I remember Trevor being a slow starter sometimes.

For gods sake maybe we just need to run him a bit to get his energy up and allow WR's to get open. Offense looks terrible. I know it's against a good defense but it looks like we came in with a super conservative offense. That weak playcalling just got us a pick 6. Can't live off of short routes like that forever without a DB jumping one.

^ this. DJ needs to run it a few times. I know everyone wants to keep him healthy but we won’t win this dinking and dunking. He also needs to throw deep some. It’s open. He has not time. Roll him out or do something different. The pocket is just not there long enough.
