The headline should say "Ice secretly deported Pennsylvania grandfather, 82, after he misplaced green card"
He was a legal permanent resident, but they detained and deported him. These are straight up crimes, kidnapping and trafficking, and he may not survive the ordeal.

Again, if they approached him at random and asked for evidence of legal status, and he explained that he lost his green card and was there to pick up a new one, and they just said "Too bad, you're being deported" . . . If that's the way it went down (that's the implication based on the way it's been reported) then those involved are sorry pieces ofshit, and should be fired and prosecuted. It's shameful.
I doubt that's all there is to thre story, however. It seems like important details are conveniantly missing.

One of the things that seems to be driving this is that ICE agents are under a quota. And they do the same things cops do when they're told to meet ticket quotas - they start nailing people left and right for every little thing no matter how ridiculous, set up bullsh!t speed traps where the speed-limit signage is sketchy or confusing, and sometimes even write tickets that are completely bogus. I'm nursing a lifetime beef with the Wellford PD over that stuff that I will never let go of. Normally I support the blue...but Wellford cops are pig bastages in my mind now and forever. Sorry, fellas. You guys went out of your way to earn it.
Now ICE is doing that...just with people's lives. And of course everyone's favorite sadistic bureaucrat Stephen Miller is involved; he apparently upped their quota of 1,000 arrests up to 3,000.
