An article in the Wall Street Journal titled "Sorry, Harvard. Everyone Wants to Go to College in the South Now" and this is taken from the first paragraph:

"A growing number of high-school seniors in the North are making an unexpected choice for college: They are heading to Clemson, Georgia Tech, South Carolina, Alabama and other universities in the South"

Do we want these yankees? And why the coot mention?

Btw, DEI has completely destroyed the Ivy League reputation

Well if it's still the way it was when I went to Clemson most the student body was from SC, but #2 was NJ. I then went to grad school at another land grant school and same thing. Most students from that state, #2 was NJ.

NJ has become like California. They imported enough people to have a permanent blue majority and done their damndest to chase out anyone else. Even in each red town, they mandated apartments and “affordable housing” to turn everywhere blue. Add on that mail-in ballot fraud and here we are.

Each year about 32,000 kids leave NJ to go out of state for college. Our kid was one of them because Rutgers was not even close to a fit.

Please don’t knee jerk hate NJ kids. They want a taste of the fun (and normal) college experience. They are not all commie moles. They may talk fast and complain about your pizza but they are not all bad.

My post was not meant to knock people from NJ or even agree with the article. I was just simply stating the statistical facts of the origin of most students of two different land grant universities I attended.

I actually spent some time in the North. NYC for ~9 months (chased a girl to Staten Island after I graduated from Byrnes High School) then after Grad school lived in and around Baltimore and DC for ~ 8 years.

They want to go to school where they can walk the streets and not take subway where getting stabbed is daily.

They come south to Red states where criminals still get convicted, people are friendlier, cost of living is cheaper, then they bring their northeast attitudes and political views although they are trying to escape what they hate. If they would fix their own dang states we wouldn't have this absurd number of relocated northern people driving up the cost of real estate in the south.
