So first off I had to make friends w the tellers at my local Bank of Americas. This took some time of just coming in and buying coin rolls and be sweet to them. I’d put their names in notes so I could act like I remembered when I walk in.
Then I had to sign up for a dump bank that had a coin machine for free w an account. Greenville Federal Credit Union works well for that. They will order me two half dollar boxes a month.
Now I have 3 BofAs that will order me boxes when I go in as long as I’m not bringing them back there after searching. Right now I have 8 boxes of half dollars ordered to come in the next week to search for silver and NFIC.
Since I started this CRH hobby a few months ago, have found 19 pieces of silver, over a hundred NIFC (not intended for circulation) halve dollars. Lots of cool foreign coin. 4 Buffalo Nickels, 8 West Point mint quarters, 5 San Fran mint proof quarters, 130 plus wheat Pennie’s, 2 steel Pennie’s from WW2. Plus about 15 pounds of copper Pennie’s I’m saving bc they are worth 3 cent in copper but paid a cent.
Got a whole collection out of just a few months.

Do you have certain coins that you look for in each roll?

Seems like it would take a long time to look at every coin and check to see its value.

Any dimes, quarters, halves 1964 or before are silver

Then I look for any S mint proofs or other NIFCs. Any Pennie’s that are 1982 or below, and then main errors that are detailed for me in the big red coin book. Also fill up books with all the years.

I wouldn’t have to work another day if I didn’t want to, my salary will just go to vacations and consumerism for the 6 kids. More restaurants.
But I’ll prob take this new distribution job and see how it goes.
