"The TSA officer may ask you to complete an identity verification process which includes collecting information such as your name and current address to confirm your identity. If your identity is confirmed, you will be allowed to enter the screening checkpoint, where you may be subject to additional screening."
However, big s/o to the State Dept. Online passport renewal took less than a month between application and passport in-hand.

also have a passport. My SC DL is real ID, but wife-of's isn't...but she has a passport, so she's going to get a real id when she gets her DL renewed.

Politicians pandered to the resistant by continuing postponing needing to bring in the additional paperwork.
I took mom with me the last time we both had to renew and the lady didn’t even look at her paperwork. She went through mine with a fine toothed comb.
So if you want to be a nefarious international criminal, make sure you are a little old lady.

I had to go to the DMV for another matter and my DL was about to expire.
What a fuggingshitshow the DMV is. The lady said it's all real ID panic moves. Opened at 9:30, I was there at 9:15 and sweatergod the line was a city block long. 100 minutes in line.
I get it though. Who wants to go to the DMV for no reason? They've been crying wolf over this real ID shid five ever.
