You don't need a 2nd router. Just get a wifi extender. You don't have to run

my wifi doesn't quite go as far as I'd like, but 400 ft would mean all my neighbors could try and get some wifi outta me.

Eero and probably others have an app that will show you every device connected to the router, so you can even block some devices if you need.
