ND will aim to triple its annual football-only rights fee from $22 million to $75 million when its current NBC Sports deal expires after the 2024 season.

with NBC, or any other network for that matter, that would pretty much end any further speculation for the foreseeable future about them joining a conference in football.

Otherwise they would be at a disadvantage like we soon will be (if we don’t leave the ACC). They’re looking out for their best interest. I sure hope we are to……..

75 mil to beat up on a schedule with 5 meaningless ACC games every year (unless it's Clemson or FSU). That would be a hard pass if I'm NBC.

The strategy is to always ask for more than you will settle for.

Wanting and getting is another story, I don't see them getting $53 mil raise especially when they're talking about a new contract. They are wanting more than triple of what they were getting from NBC, maybe, but I don't think NBC would give them triple of what they were paying them seasons prior. Good lucky charms with that midget's, I just don't think it's going to be that magically delicious!!!

They will get the 75 million/ As a Clemson alum and life long Clemson fan, I don't care for ND but it is probably the top brand name in CF. That is why they are independent. There are many more potential buyers now than before. The major networks and streaming services would jump at getting the contract and NBC knows that.
ND will get the 75 mil. And they will not join the ACC or any other conference when the CFB playoffs expand to 12 teams. There is no way the CF Playoff gurus are going to ever exclude ND from having a path to the CFP.

I hope they get the $75M and stay independent (if they want)

I do think though that not being able to declare themselves a P5 champion should put them at a disadvantage as far as initial seeding with 12 team CFP. I think they are automatically shut out of the top 4 seedlings so that is a start.
I never thought that being a conference champ should be a requirement back when there were just four teams - but now that it has expanded I’m supportive of the preference.
Regardless, I hope they get their money.
