Hey I love what Cade did

and I hope he will be great but Saturday was one game. DJ had a big game early and then seemed to struggle at times since. Let's just pump the brakes and let Cade develop before coronating him anything.

I think we'll see him upstage himself with UcheaT.

To be totally honest, what we saw with Cade in the championship game, that is the Cade that I saw in his high school film, and I'm not talking about just 1 or 2 of his HS film, I've watched every HS film of his that I've found. If he doesn't get screwed up in development, I think he is going to be ok....

Cade pulling the ball on the read option and walking into the endzone had been missing all year. Even Hunter Johnson kept giving it to ship to smash into the wall of defenders. I will never understand that

Thank you. That was a perfectly executed read-option. DJ just never could make that read correctly or sell the fake.

Consider him coronated

...to the extent that he looked better at QB than DJ did in any game over the last two seasons. The offense looked better than it has at any point when DJ played. We looked like Clemson for the 1st time in two years. The ceiling is much higher for Cade than it was with DJ.
When DW4 took over for Cole Stout the exact same thing occurred. DW4 made everyone on offense, and defense play better. That happened again in this year's ACC Championship Game.

I recall, though, that DW4 was injured and Stoudt played in the bowl game and picked apart Oklahoma.

Yeah, that performance last week felt like Clemson football for the first time in 2 years!

Very true. I do think his dual threat abilities fit our scheme and philosophy much better than DJ though. The playbook is designed around the RPO game, Cade seems to allow us to to be able to call these effectively. To your point though, UNC is just one game against a sub-par defense.

Hmm .. I saw more against UNC than I’ve seen in the past two years. He was ready weeks ago. All QB’s make mistakes, I’d rather see his on occasion than the mess we’ve been seeing. Don’t go down the same wrong road as Streeter, etc. They’ve been exposed from what everyone saw with their own eyes -trust yours.

I’ve watched to much of his film to not be sold already. Not just highlights either, gotta find the tape where they’ve struggled and Cade has always made adjustments when struggling which is why he never lost in HS. If you find DJs real tape on HS he had some of the same issues in HS that he did hear but arm strength and amazing talent around him covered it.

There was just a different level of energy to the offense with CK at QB.
It looked like the WRs elevated their game and so did the OC.

I’ve got a good feeling about Cade. I can’t wait to see how he develops as a qb
