2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2020, and 2023:

Those who want him out now are being completely absolutely unreasonable. I get this postseason didn't go as we hoped, but we literally went to an Elite 8 last year. This year we went 27-7 and 18-2 in the ACC. This is unarguably one of the best two-year stretches in the history of our school, and he deserves a contract extension.

I don't think Brownell is a perfect coach, but he has markedly raised the standards of Clemson Basketball in this new era of NIL and unlimited transfers. I don't know how next year's roster will turn out, but until proven otherwise, he deserves the benefit of the doubt as he has done an excellent job of acquiring talent in the portal these past two seasons. I'd go as far to say that even if we have an average season next year (like a .500 record), his Elite 8 run last year is enough to keep him around for at least another season.

This was unarguably one of the worst seasons for the ACC ever! Outside of Duke post season has proven it.

Keeping the status quo for a few more years has to be the least expensive route. Not a bad coach, just not consistent.

Firing with buyouts and hiring a new coach would be expensive. Need to save the money to buyout of the ACC earlier than later.
