Tiger fans: Man, we are on a 22-game winning streak that included a 4-TD win over Bama and we keep dropping in the stupid AP Poll.
Media: but what have you done this year?
Tiger fans: Well, we're 5th in the nation in total defense after completely re-loading on the DL. That's 21 spots better than your #1 ranked team and 19 spots better than the #2 ranked team. Only the #3 ranked team is better than us in this category, by 3 spots.
Media: yeah but that offense looks really bad, Trevor doesn't know how to football, so what do you have to say about that?
Tiger fans: Well, we're 10th in the nation in total offense, which is only 1 spot behind your #1 ranked team.
Media: but you've played nobody!
Tiger fans: Well, your current #1 team has played the 52nd toughest schedule in the country, your #2 team has played the 41st toughest schedule, your #3 team has played the 32nd toughest schedule and we have played the 43rd toughest schedule. Ohio State is the only team that is ahead of us in all of those categories. Meanwhile, while playing an easier schedule Bama is 21 spots behind us in total defense and only 1 spot ahead of us in total offense. So why are they #1 and we're #4?
Media: Because Bama and SEC, that's why!

advertising campaign was brilliant, and it is far better than anything the ACC will ever do.
I don't have a problem with OSU jumping us. My problem is Bama and LSU not being held to the same standard, whatever that standard is. It was clear to anyone who watched the Bama/UT game Saturday night that the refs completely bailed out Bama. And then UT's QB went rogue and called his own number. Otherwise that was at best a 1-score win for Bama.
