I think that is the type of hire Scott Woodward would make... and they seem to be bypassing him. So who knows. Its a crazy year with UF, PennSt and LSU all open. While the shine may not be as bright right now on Dabo... are there 3 coaches who are in a situation where they might need a fresh start that would be better hires than Dabo?
Nothing would surprise me this cycle.

LSU fires coaches quickly because they expect performance every season. They canned Ed Orgeron because they would not let him have time to rebuild the team after he graduated almost the entire squad he won the national title with. They certainly are not interested in a coach that has been hum drumming along stuggling to beat teams like Syracuse and SMU. Dabo is going nowhere. The time for him to move to another big football school was in 2019. That ship has sailed until he can prove he can do it again.

In other words the ship has sailed. They lose half their starters and the back ups are awful. Recruiting will be the worst class since he arrived, topping last years debacle. It's over. He will empty the stadium within 2 years and they will be forced to make a change or have sweeping cuts across the entire athletic department. Empty seats bring change.

I'd be thrilled if someone would pay the buyout, but I strongly doubt it. Dabo isn't an elite coach any more. Boosters would be pissed if they learned they hired him. They're going around the AD and the board/governor are selecting the next one. And after the BK buyout, they're not going to offer more to Dabo than we stupidly do.
