I came to eat my crow and give my recap.

Sep 2, 2013, 11:03 AM

First of all I cant type nor was I an english major. With that said, hats off to CU. They won the game and that's all that matters.

We arrived at 11AM and pain 150 bucks to park close to the ESSO club. A friend has a tailgate on the Ave of Champ next to the stadium so it was less work caring 4 cooler full of alcohol....

We drank, talked football, drank a few, watch football, drank some more, well you get the picture... CU has a great atmosphere and great fans! We stopped by many tailgates and were graciously welcomed each time,

After 7 hours of eating and drinking, we decide to head to the stadium to watch the teams warm up. Had great seats in the lower level on the 20 about 15 rows up. All was good in the world until drunk ### showed up behind me. He was calling our players ####### and I turned around and told him he was the ##### thats why he wasn't on the field. After a few more foul words came out, I told him my wife was with me and I won't tell you what I told him next or y'all would call me a redneck. He didn't say anything else the rest of the game.

The things about CU that surprised me where their ability to run the ball. Not sure if McDowell was really on, we can't tackle or a combination of both. I was also impressed with CU's defensive ends. They played a great game.

I thought CU would struggle a little with their receivers and the did. I think they will be fine in the long run. To me the difference in the game was the quarterback. Taj didn't do anything to hurt his team and Murray pulled another Murray.

I thought the officiating was fine. I know CU fans are pissed about the "fake injuries" but if you look at the tape 84 had a club on his hand from surgery 2 weeks ago. He tapped his chest each time to the side lines on the prior 2 plays after getting it smashed and they did not send in a sub. I don't think either way it had any effect on the game.

I was surprised that our offense wasn't close to mistake free. We blew a 1st and goal and made 2 critical turn overs. I was also surprised our DL didn't play better. Our secondary played well except for the missed tackle on SW.

It was a good win for CU and a bad loss for UGA. Hopefully both of us will win out and meet again for all the marbles. Wouldn't that be epic?

I will agree with you on one point about #84

his fake collapse on the field was not a major impact, it was all the others that had an impact in combination with his one.

Make it idjit proof and someone will make a better idjit.

I wish someone could put this on you tube. I am not sure how to do that. It was by far the most blatant I thought.

Thanks for having the guts to come back and glad you enjoyed

Sep 2, 2013, 11:10 AM

the atmosphere and game! UGA will be fine this year and good luck next week, beat those #####, you really owe them one or two. I thought Murray looked good but as ytou said the turnovers were killers for you and momentum builders for us. Good luck the rest of the way!

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Oh yeah forgot to mention that Gurley is the real deal.

Sep 2, 2013, 11:13 AM

Wish we had gotten him but he is a load to bring down, has the ability to cut and go and has the break away speed. Those combinations are rare so enjoy him through next year because he'll only be there 3 years.

Sorry you had to deal with that fan in the stands. We all have our embarrassing fans; I like to think (hope) that we have less than most teams. I'm glad you had a great time. Best of luck next week!

I was pretty impressed with Georgia. The game could have gone either way. They never quit, even when they were down by 10 late. The defense looked very fast and talented. Once they get some experience Georgia could be as good as any team in the nation.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Correction to the "We blew a 1st and goal"

Sep 2, 2013, 11:28 AM

Our DEFNESE stopped you three times!!! And all without flopping!

Welcome to the ACC, oh hell no we aren't going there! We aren't the SEC living on hype! We are CLEMSON! Welcome to a CLEMSON DEFENSE!

kudos to you

Sep 2, 2013, 11:44 AM

Most Georgia fans have disappeared. I don't know if there was an alien invasion that I missed in the news or what.

Very fair synopsis of the game, especially from an opposing fans perspective.

Reasonable assessment of the game.
Glad you were treated w respect & had a good time.
Loud / obnoxious / vulgar fans are the exception and not the rule, but unfortunately, every stadium has a handful that are an embarrassing to the other 80-plus thousand.
Good luck against the Coots.
