This game reminded me a lot of 2014 at FSU

When we outplayed them and deserved to win but for red zone possessions with no points and badly times turnovers and mistakes. That game was also a statistical anomaly where a team with our stat advantage wins 98% of the time, we found out how that 2% comes to exist.
We'll see what this team is made of in 3 weeks.

Except I am not using stats as a comfort. We didn't outplay them, and we certainly didn't deserve to win.

agree we did not out play them at all even if we would have won we still did not look good in all facets of the game, we looked like we did not even practice thats what it looked like.

Yes the game brought back memories but also It reminds me of our bowl game against Tennessee last year. We moved the ball easily but stalled in scoring position with bonehead mistakes.

But there is no argument that we outplayed or outcoached Duke last night.

If you really think we out played and out coached them then you watched a different game than I did. Even Dabo didn't agree with that.

Thus there is no argument for us outplaying or outcoaching them.
Duke simply and undeniably outplayed and outcoached us last night.

Duke was the benefactor of multiple mental errors made by a very talented and well coached team. That type of freakshow result is not the norm in this program and will continue to be an outlier as long as Dabo is at the helm.
Everyone criticizing Dabo and calling for his firing needs a serious reality check. There is not another team in the country that would have been able to overcome the mistakes that were made last night. We fix those very fixable errors and this Tiger team will not lose again this year.
But the errors MUST be corrected and fast. Lucky for us, we have the right Jimmys and Joes and the perfect man overseeing their rise off the mat.

I'm sure there are folks bashing the team and coach

But that ain't me. I'll be in the valley on Saturday cheering on my Tigers and supporting them. I also have enough common sense to call last night honestly. We got outplayed and outcoached. It happens and inst some sort of character assasination or attack to acknowledge it. It's simply facing reality.
Here's to brighter days (and better games) ahead.

The Clemson family will be happy to stand together with you in the Valley. Fortunately, for many fans that can't afford top ten ticket prices, attending games may be within reach as our fanbase is imploding.
I hope to see the Valley at full capacity for the next 3 games. This team needs to know we still believe in them.

There were multiple facets of the game where we took it to Duke.
We consistently put them in third and long only to lose contain on a very athletic QB who got outside of young DL players. When he wasn't scrambling to the outside, the DL was playing hero ball and crashing to the outside to open massive lanes in the middle for a 50% passing QB to feast running the ball. It would have been nice to see an equally athletic player spying him on 3rd down - maybe Woodaz. It certainly would have kept him below 98 yards rushing. After all it wasn't their passing game that beat us, but the QB running free down the field.
We ran the ball down the field with ease. GR was ready to lean on the run and our backs played well only to have drives end in zero points because of penalties and fumbles.
The passing game looked better than last year and we had a QB that was able to evade pressure much better than last year. That statue in Corvallis will be exposed when pressured the way Cade was last night. Our OL has work to do with getting into position on run plays faster (pulling guards and tackles) as well as in pass protection, but we must have faith in them and give them an opportunity to improve before quitting on the team.

"The passing game looked better than last year"
Again, I'm not doom and gloom. I've watched a ton of bad Clemson football over the years and will continue no matter how this year goes... but last night the passing game was bad.

1) FSU was #1 in the country and went 13-0 that

year before losing in the CFP. This was Duke. Not comparable opponents.
2) We didn't really outplay Duke. It was a fairly even game aside from all of the mistakes that led to us losing by 21.
Yardage was 422 to 374 but we also ran 83 plays to their 64. They actually averaged more yards per rush and more yards per pass than we did. They moved the ball more efficiently than we did. They ran for 6.6 yards per carry on our defense! That's a pathetic effort by the run D.
Turnovers were 3-2 in their favor. Our turnovers were really bad and cost us points, but one of their turnovers gave us our only 7 pts of the game.
I just don't buy any argument that we outplayed them.
